Had dinner with another couple here. had seen the place before but felt it was to showy to be any good. More like a tourist trap. We had a number of seafood courses and they all were great. Prices were not out of line and the service was first class.

My wife, kids and I had a wonderful dinner at Capital Seafood in Irvine for our 30th wedding anniversary.
This establishment has a wonderful ambiance to go with the great dishes that they prepare. Our dinner included many of their specialties, like the Maine Lobster, Filet Mignon Cubes with Black Pepper Sauce, Hong Kong Style Chow Mein, Yong Chow Fried Rice and Emperors Garden vegetable dish along with the Roast Duck. Everything was perfect and everyone enjoyed the entire meal. Our server, Michael, was terrific. He continued to bring fresh plates and towels while we worked on the Maine Lobster. Michael really went out of his way to make sure that our special occasion was a memorable experience.
They also have a great happy hour in the bar with $3 beers and other specials.
We also learned that they serve a great Dim Sum for lunch so I can’t wait to go back and try that out.

Went to the Spectrum location last night for a banquet in their beautiful private room which holds a single table for 10 people. Best service we have ever had in a chinese restaurant. Outstanding Peking Duck and Thai Spicy Seafood soup which was filled with clams and scallops. Spicy fried Lobster and spicy green beans were a bit overcooked and dry. The large bar had happy hour with a large variety of $2 beer and $5 cocktails with $4-$6 small plates. The bar was very crowded. Parking in large multistory garage is very close to restaurant.

We came here with a party of 7, guided by an old friend who happens to be an exclusive caterer in Laguna Beach. He was very enthusiastic about Capital Seafood, telling us that it's his favorite restaurant and he goes as often as possible. We drove over to the Irvine Spectrum Mall where the restaurant is located and walked in expecting a treat. Nobody was disappointed. Our host did the ordering and we simply sat back and enjoyed. Half way through the meal the consensus around our table was that this the best Asian cuisine any of us had ever had anywhere.

We started with pork dumplings filled with soup- a deliciously addictive mouthful accompanied by a vinagery sauce. We went through two orders. This was followed by another two orders of chicken lettuce wraps that were out of this world good- heaping mounds of wok-fried diced chicken- crispy, lightly breaded and not the least bit greasy. The plum sauce and crispy lettuce leaves bound it all together. Wow! We could've stopped right there & been quite happy. Instead, bowls of fried rice appeared along with incredible giant honey prawns, some unbelievable flash-cooked green beans (apparently they use an 800 degree wok for these) and a huge platter of chopped lobster. Everything was superbly prepared, service was excellent, the ambiance elegant and all of us had a memorable meal. I couldn't say if this is authentic Cantonese or not, but really that doesn't matter- the food is totally delicious whatever you want to call it. Just go enjoy.

This place is nicely located and the food is "value for money". As the name goes one should try seafood - namely lobster or crabs and go back with a wonderful dining experience. The servings are also good, so be there with family.Service is fast & good. Only problem is they close quite early (may be by 9 pm or so).
