An extraordinary experience difficult to describe. Everything amazing, the place, the people, activities, service, food… You can choose a wide range of options for your trip from feeling like alone in an Island, absolute privacy, to doing a lot of amazing activities. I´m sure we´ll go again!

This is the 7th time we have stayed and we were as pleased as ever!
Everything cannot be faulted.
The most beautiful situation in the Maldives with the whole island to itself.
The staff are the best in the world - polite, helpful and they anticipate your every need.
The food is always exceptionally well presented and all the ingredients are so fresh with a huge variety and with 3 different restaurants all serving different types of cuisine.
The villas/huts are creatively thought out with every possible convenience and with direct entrance onto the pristine beach.
This is not to be missed - only one word can be given to Soneva Fushi - SUPERLATIVE!!

Room Tip: We like the sunrise side of the island as it has beautiful uninterrupted views out over the turquois...

Went to Soneva Fushi a part of island-hopping. Soneva Fushi has one of the best services, atmosphere, food, and water sports (non-motorized)!
Upon reaching the island, the guest relation officer of Soneva Fushi, Mr. Zaheed, gave a comprehensive introduction of the island as we toured the interiors of two of the villas and the beaches -- impressive!
Food was of superb quality -- it was well worth the money spent.
I was particularly impressed with the organic farm, as well as the resort's commitment to create a culture of environmental responsibility by adopting 'green' initiatives such as Eco Centro "Waste to Wealth" and eliminating the use of plastic bags on the island.
Had great fun with the water sports team as well. We sailed on a catamaran to the sand bank, canoeing and fun-tubing. Thanks to Hassan for teaching me Catamaran sailing and another staff (sorry I forgot your name... you mentioned that you stay beside the purple house on opposite the island) for the delightful chats :)
Thanks to the waste management manager, Mr Gordon, for lending me a helping hand during a cycling accident.
Although this was a short trip, it was one of the memorable trips I had ever had. Those were the small things that made a holiday wonderful, and nobody could have done it better than the staff whom I had met at Soneva Fushi. I will miss the Dutch bunny! And I will be back... Not as a day use guest, but spending my holiday in one of those villas!

We had a family holiday in December 2013 at Soneva Sushi. It's difficult a thing to explain an experience that is defined by the best of everything whilst still being so incredibly peaceful and unpretentious. It's things like my home made pillow and chair border I made for the children in case they fell out of bed instantly became a hand made wooden frame from the same beautiful white wood - no questions asked, I would never has asked, didn't know it was possible. White sandy paths, the most comfortable bicycles, the attention to detail, my new camera batteries provided by our Man Friday Fati (from where they came from I still don't know), the open air cinema, the ice cream room, the chocolate room, the cheese room. Now that I think back the list is endless, the snorkelling, the beautiful fish, the restaurant in the tree tops, star gazing. The best bathroom on the planet, sand bank drinks. But most of all, it was the untouched beauty at every turn - the relaxed atmosphere and the people... the staff were so truly amazing I quite literally cried as we walked to the boat that took us to our sea plane to take us home. It altered us for life, it's been two months since we were there and it's like yesterday, I anticipate for eva and eva we'll remember Soneva.

We are glad that you and your family enjoyed the ‘Soneva version of Paradise’ which as you said, was a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere with untouched natural surroundings but nevertheless offering all the luxury that one would look for when on holiday. It is what we call ‘Intelligent luxury’ and we are delighted that it altered you for life.

I have been lucky enough to travel to some 100 countries staying in both ultra luxury and back packer hotels. Soneva Fushi is my number one pick of them all. Thank you to my Mr Friday, Shameen who took great care of me during my last stay.

In short, the food is the best in the Maldives. Service likewise. You will not be disappointed staying in Soneva Fushi.

Ok, having not experienced every resort in the world the title might be a stretch, but in all honesty this place will be etched in my mind for the remainder of my life.
We arrived into Male to experience the relaxing VIP lounge, to then fly via seaplane 30-40 minutes over the small islands to our destination on Kunfunadoo, where we were met by a boat which took us in to the jetty. Immediately, Roman (our friday/ butler) seemed to take the weight of the world off our shoulders and point out to us they have one policy on the island "No News, No Shoes". After stepping foot on the island we were led to our Villa by Roman and left to unwind and soak it all up.
The Villa was everything to expect and more, we had a schedule of restaurants pre booked by Roman so that we would experience different styles each night, the rest was as much or as little as we wished to do. Everything from Eco centro, The Observatory, Tennis court, Outside night cinema, Snooker Table, Dive centre etc were very nice touches and all the bars and restaurants (which in my view served some of the best food I have ever eaten) were top,top quality. Not to mention breakfast on the island which if anyone tells you they've had a better breakfast, then there delusional.
However, the main star of the show is the island itself. White sands, crystal clear turquoise sea, coral reefs, baby black tip reef sharks swimming alongside whilst walking on the beach and great snorkelling off the beach or jetties.
Also, there seems to be a real effort to reduce the resorts carbon footprint via recycling at their Eco centro area and using sustainable materials in there construction, maintaining a lush jungle of trees and a serious drive to keep on tackling this issue.
If you wish to experience true paradise then this place would have to be your first consideration.

I may fall short of words to explain this place. Too much of luxuries , too good hospitality . Excellent food quality. Too much of varieties to satisfy your taste buds. I really miss the chocolate room & cheese room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
When Eva and Sonu Shivdasani built Soneva Fushi as well as their home on the deserted island of Kunfunadhoo in the Maldives in 1995 they had no idea that their intensely personal vision of a locally crafted villa and environmentally responsible lifestyle would form the basis of a successful collection of world-class hotels, resorts and spas. But that's exactly what happened. Soneva Fushi was the first 'castaway' resort in the Maldives, pioneering a trend for back-to-nature luxury holidays. It established a blueprint for a highly acclaimed international business, followed by spectacular Soneva Kiri on the unspoilt Thai island of Koh Kood in 2009. The success of the Soneva brand also paved the way for Six Senses Resorts and Spas with award-winning properties in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Under Eva's and Sonu's direction the Six Senses brand gained a global following before being sold in 2012. Today the Sonevas have many imitators, but no equals. Each Soneva - and a yachting experience, Soneva in Aqua - impresses on a wide range of levels. Breathtaking 'remote but accessible' natural locations, effortlessly chic accommodation, incredible food, truly memorable activities, an inspiring ethos of sustainability and service that is uncannily intuitive. The resort that set the tone and the standards for every subsequent resort. A jewel of an island - large by Maldives standards - with perfect beaches, a vibrant reef encircling the island, a colony of nesting turtles and its very own world class observatory. Located in the Baa Atoll, Maldives' only UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi is blessed with extensive coral reefs and significant biodiversity including large concentrations of whale sharks, manta rays and marine turtles. The resort is perfect for romantic couple getaways, or family holidays as it provides unique experiences and activities for all, from diving and snorkelling with the marine biologist, to sandbank dinners and a children's den (playground). ... more   less
