“Great location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012

This is a great location to see pt Reyes. It was quiet and the grounds are beautiful. The staff were very nice. We were traveling with a small pet and requested a king bed which is listed on their site as a pet friendly room. When I called, I'm not sure if it was unavailable or the website needed to be updated but they didn't have the king bed for us. They offered us twin beds which we can make work and accepted. Unfortunately one of the twin beds was better suited for a child - not a good bed. My husband didn't sleep well for the two night stay. There is a small kitchen area. There was food and crumbs in the utensils drawer.

Room Tip: Great location for seeing pt Reyes especially if you are traveling with a pet. Carefully check out...

Had never been there before....easy check-in at the little shack at the entrance.....our room was easily accessible from the parking area,,,,room was spacious and large with a kitchenette....a fridge to keep our wine cool....quiet in the evening....not terribly far from restaurants.....so finding dinner and breakfast was easy....an easy place to stay on a trip up the coast...

Room Tip: go online and look at pictures and descriptions of rooms....choice is personal

Our first night on a trip up the coast and we were so pleased with the easy, laid-back service of this family inn. Our room was spacious and very clean, the owner was friendly and very helpful. She even took the initiative to give a more private room when she found out there was a group near the room we had originally reserved. It was quiet, peaceful and we loved being able to walk the trails on the property. The low-key office was open 24-hours so we could pick up a movie or look at local menus at our own pace. The grounds were beautiful - lots of lush, native landscaping to separate us from other rooms. Not your average Motel 6! A great start for our road trip!

Room Tip: They're all good!

A board beside a hut said 'check in', inside our names on a post it note and keys on a table. No need to fill out forms, leave credit card, or give car registration. Loved it!
Sipped good tea while laying on bed in a cozy room, with the sunlight dancing through the trees outside. Loved it!
Walked around the farm, enjoyed chickens, goats, alpaca, llama, vegetable beds. Loved it.
Met the owners, very friendly and helpful.
All in all a lovely getaway, would recommend and come back again.
Dinner at 'Farmhouse' in nearby Olema, delicious!

Reading the range of reviews in recent months, it's clear there are "different strokes for different folks". I'd stayed here a year ago with a friend from Colorado, and we couldn't have been happier. So I was delighted to be able to bring a friend from Paris this early-May Saturday and Sunday nights. We appreciated the friendliness and environmental consciousness of the owners, getting to know the goats and llama, and the beautiful, tranquil extensive grounds. It was hard to realize we were so close to the road- we never heard it in our room.

My wife and I stayed for a Friday and Saturday night recently with our two preschoolers in a small family suite: queen bed downstairs with kitchen and dining area, and two twin beds in a loft area above. We were there for a family wedding nearby in Point Reyes Station. The place was just what we needed: a lot more elbow room than a hotel at a comparable price. The owners were friendly and helpful; the kids loved going for a nature walk and seeing the farm animals; the grounds were shady and welcoming; the pool, though chilly in April, was a welcome diversion for the kids one unseasonably hot afternoon. Highly recommended for family getaway with small kids and a chance to relax and unplug. On the topic of plugs, we had no cell phone coverage (AT&T) while there, but we did make use of the free WiFi for web and e-mail.

Inverness Valley Inn, accepts dogs. ON leash. We dont want them chasing our goats. Or chickens. Did I mention we have a goat named Fluffy? Oh by the way, make sure you wash your own dishes in your room.

We were looking for a weekend away spot. We were given a conference room with a murphy bed, that accomodated our dog. We got what we were looking for. Good thing we didnt care much about grounds etc. We were really there just to hang out in bed, and go hiking on the off chance we chose to get out of it. So it was essentially just a place to crash.

If you go here, be aware there is no heat in the bathrooms, the walls are very thin, and it's about Best Western style amentities and decor- only more mom n pop. We stayed in the quail room. with adorable photos of um....quail on the walls.

Please conserve energy, water. This is an 'eco-friendly' resort. I threw my oyster shells in the flower bed. So I did my part. :) Great fertilizer.

Would we stay here again? Only if we're feeling nostalgic for that 24 hours we spent in bed and didn't do anything but drink wine and...um...sleep. yes...sleep.

Room Tip: there looked to be some rooms that had been redone. Perhaps those are reserved for peoples without f...
