I’ve been to Viru bog countless times and it never ceases to amaze me, still takes my breath away every time I go. I can seriously say that if you have a little time in Tallinn, hire a car for one day and take the short 30 km trip to Viru bog trail. You won’t be sorry.
The wooden trail runs along the swamp, over the little swamp lakes and the absolutely unique bog landscape. There’s a long version that goes on for quite long but you can’t also just take a leisurely stroll to the viewing tower and then walk back. In summer i’ve seen people swimming in the bog lake... not sure it’s actually allowed but My Scottish friends did it and enjoyed it to no end.
Any time of year you go, it’s going to be fantastic! I can’t recommend it highly enough. I take all my guests and visitors there, they all love it!More
