One heck of a store for purchasing Dates and Date items ect. We were there the other day to check it out but our mistake was to stop at Oasis 1st for a Date Shake, it tasted like vanilla ice cream. We were too full to try Shields shake. So before heading out to Quartzsite, for the RV Show, we had to try one of there Date Shakes. Night and Day, Shields is the very best Date Shake we have ever had. Friends we are travelling with went the other day for the shakes and said how good they were so they went with us because they were craving more. They have a very nice restaurant and sitting outside, which we did because the weather was great. Food looked great but we were there for the shakes, for lunch. We did order the Three Cheese Choriqueso, don't bother. Flavor good chorizo did have a kick but it was one big clump of cheese with a little meat and lots of grease. It also came with 3 mini tortillas, very strange. The Mr. and I had the runs later, just guessing it had something to do with that. Anyway, the EXCELLENT Score is for the Date Shakes. Will, for sure, be going back!

We try to visit shields for breakfast each time we are here. We enjoy the outdoor dining and Mexican inspired breakfast menu The service is always friend;y, but this time a bit inattentive. But still, a good experience And we enjoy seeing the updates to the outdoors area the are creating behind the restaurant

Great sandiches and salads! Large portions. Great gift shop. Plenty of parking, which isn't always the case in the desert. Breakfast menu looks good too. Will try this one again!

We love the Date Shakes. This place is right out of the past. The sex life of the Date is fun. Great Dates that are fresh.

WE have been going to Shields ever since we were kids in the 1950's and it is still very much the same. We like the new management which is building a Biblical Garden in the back to walk through. You can now have lunch also outside under the date trees which Mr. Shields loved. And most of all we love the date shakes which are the best in the Coachella Valley. The date Crystals are the best for making homemade delicacies at home.
