“Great place with lots of extras”
Reviewed October 5, 2011

This is a decent place to stay and is pleasant with a upscale twist. Though it isn't high class to some taste; it sure offers a lot and feels like a complimentary home away from home. Two pools and two spas are just one nice feature as well as two full bedrooms and a fully furnished bright kitchen and decor set it off. It's a great get away from the hustle and bustle.

We usually stay in Palm Springs but I wanted to check out things a little further east. The rooms at Indian Palms are nice, very clean, and the staff is helpful. It is not a high end resort but much more than a hotel stay. The pool area is small but for this time of year that was not the focus. There are no great resurants on this side of the area but if you plan to cook at home you can do it here with ease. Very close to the date festival Riverside county fair grounds.

We booked a condo here through Interval. Stayed here for a few days in November, and overall I would recommend it.

Some things to keep in mind:
Indian Palms is a golf course complex that occupies 1 square mile in Indio. The town where the condos are located is not really part of Palm Springs. [It's a long drive across I-10 (about 40 minutes from the airport).] Overall the town of Indio has a very suburban, quiet feel. The condo is very close to a lot of shopping (Albertson's, Target, Walgreens, etc.)

The unit itself was clean, but not on the level of Marriott properties. We were in a 2BR unit. The two bedrooms were on the small side, and there was only one bathroom. There were also some minor annoyances like a broken clock and toilet paper dispenser. But the kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment, and the block where the condos are was well cared for and quiet at night.

The best part of staying here is the deal on the golf course. Because we stayed at the condos, it was $44 for 18 holes with a cart, which is a pretty good deal for the quality of the course. The golf course attendants, rangers, pro shop people were all very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for 6 nights, October 10 thru16. Our unit was two bedroomed and one bathroomed. Very well appointed and clean, the units have obviously been upgraded since the 2005 review. Entrance to the whole Indian Palms complex is thru transponder operated security gates, one of which has manned security as well. Very quiet as already said. As we are not golfers so we can't say what the price of a round is now. Videos and DVDs available from reception for free but don't expect the latest blockbusters but old favourites. Good cheap laundromat on site as well. The Albertsons supermarket is handy as already said . Indio is handily placed for I 10 and the Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs and all its attractions are a pleasant drive down Highway 111. One quirky little oddity, apart from the obvious attractions, is the Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo in Desert Hot Springs. Handbuilt over 30 odd years from the 40s by an eccentric adventurer it is well worth a visit.

My husband and I and two of his brothers recently stayed at Indian Palms Intervals. We were somewhat concerned as we did not find many reviews and those we found were old and not particularly positive. Well, let me say that we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a two-bedroom (but only one bathroom) unit. The furniture was on the dated side but it was fine. The appliances were quite new. They had clearly done some renovations. The kitchen was extremely well stocked...every time I thought I might like a particular kitchen utensil...there it was. There are two sets of barbeques – really high quality – on site. The office is stocked with videos, dvds and you can trade in books and magazines there. This would be a great place for couples with children – there’s lots of room for them to run around outside, two pools and very quiet streets so quite safe. We saw lots of kids out playing with their Christmas loot. The resort itself it quite well located. There is an Albertson’s grocery store across the street. If you are staying at Intervals, you can get discount golf at Indian Palms course - $43 for 18 holes and, at this time of year, that was a real bargain. All in all, while I could not say this was a five-star resort, it has much to offer and I would recommend it to others.

  • Liked — Well-equipped kitchen
  • Disliked — Some of the furniture is old and dated and there is only one bathroom

Our extended family (18 people) all stayed at Indian Palms Intervals for Spring Break and found it to be an ideal accomodation. Very well kept, nicely furnished and easily accessible condos that were not too pricey. Beautiful pool and surrounding grass area with canopy and barbques. It was full but not overcrowded so we could all get lounge chairs poolside.
Guy golfed on a great course that was offered at reduced rate so they played every a.m. We enjoyed playing tennis at night on multiple courts under the lights. We drove into Disneyland and Universal Studios for the day as they were about 2 hrs away. We liked the location in Indio as it was always sunny and warm even when LA was cool or overcast.
Good choice for southern Calif. vacation.
