“Decent Stay”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

We stayed at the resort from July 7-14, 2012. The resort is decent enough and generally we enjoyed our week there. We were a family of 10 traveling together and we were very pleased that our request to have our rooms close together was accommodated - we had 4 units all in the same building, 3 of which were on the same floor pretty much right next to each other.

The check-in process was a bit chaotic with at least 50 people milling around the lobby. We checked in (which took at least 30 minutes) but then they sent us over to another desk to get our parking pass (a little strange and very inconvenient). That's where they ask if you want to go through the "time share" presentation. Ah, no thanks :-)

The rooms were nice, clean, and fairly comfortable, with nice decor. I don't really have any complaints. Our carpet was damp when we came into the room, but not in a bad way :-). I'm pretty sure they had just cleaned it! Room amenities were good and the air conditioning worked beautifully!

The resort was loud and crowded the week we were there. We were in building 3 which overlooks the lazy river ride so it was pretty noisy. We had one neighbor for a couple days that blasted their rap music full of expletives on their balcony. Our balcony was about 15 feet away so there was no getting away from the music. We have a 10 and 14 year old that just didn't need to hear that stuff.

If you're not into loud crowds and noise I would suggest trying to get a unit in a building away from the main pool area. Buildings 7 and 12 are located along the pathway in the middle of the resort. They face more of a "green space" and I think those buildings would have been much quieter.

The pool area was nice with lots of lawn chairs and quite a few shady spots. The lazy river ride was nice too, although smaller than other ones I've seen - it opens at 8:00 am and is restricted to adult-use from 8:00 - 9:00 am. Many adults used this time to "walk" the lazy river and get some exercise. It was VERY hot the week we were there and it was nice being able to stay cool in the pool and still get a workout outside. The pools were very busy and crowded which I didn't like, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

The "market" store in the centre of the property was decent and they sold all sorts of stuff. The one thing they didn't have was a coffee station as most resorts do. Obviously you can make coffee in your room, but I like to go down and get a coffee in the morning so that was a bit of a disappointment.

The kids activity centre was very large with lots of ping pong and pool tables, some games, and a movie theatre. Unfortunately it's either not air conditioned or the air conditioning wasn't work great. It was too hot in the movie theatre to stay and watch a movie.

Overall it was fine, but I probably wouldn't stay there again. There are just so many other resorts that are much better and located more conveniently. I freely admit I'm a bit of a hotel "snob" so take my comments as you wish :-)

Room Tip: If you want quiet, buildings 7 or 12.

Outside, the resort was decent looking. The pools were okay, but very crowded. There were many rude, loud kids.

Inside the room, we had 3 bedrooms. The larger bathroom did not smell pleasant at first and you had to hold the toilet handle until everything flushed because then it would not work by itself. The beds were hard and most importantly had BED BUGS. My friend and I found one, three it out, and found another! We had to sleep in the living room. Another thing is there were many crickets in the room. Overall would not come back.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of June,,, we had 2 2bdrm condos on the bottom floor with two families. We waited until 7pm to get two rooms cleaned together although we requested adjacent rooms upon reservation and they assured us that they would note that in our reservation and it wouldn't be a problem. Check-in line on a Sunday was a full-house,,,absolutely ridiculous. They had so many employees in the Sales Presentation trying to sell timeshares, but only two for check-in. Seems like they are not that interested in the people staying, rather than the people purchasing.

Pros
Beautiful property, nicely landscaped
Clean Rooms
Like home with full kitchen, washer/dryer, tvs & dvd players
Nice movie theatre and rec room
A small snack store in case you forgot something

Cons
Very crowded,,, did not feel like a resort
Lazy River nice but very crowded and not relaxing
There is a charge for wi-fi... most hotels have free wi-fi
Pools & Jacuzzis were not very clean - I stepped on something in the jacuzzi that put splinters all along the bottom of my foot!
Many bees around the pool area...dead on the ground and buzzing all around the chairs and pool
Palm Tree cutting at 8 in the morning? Really?

Arrival at the check-in desk at the advertised 4pm check-in time was a nightmare. It took 35 minutes to check-in, partly because the units were not ready. The pair of adjacent or at least nearby units requested when booking did not materialize: the best they could do was the same building at opposite ends on different floors. I suppose we ought to be grateful they were in the same building as some buildings are quite far apart.

The units themselves were clean and had the basic essentials. They were rather cheaply furnished though - in both units the counter tops were wobbly and made of cheap material. I doubt it'll be long before they're chipped and peeling. Lighting in the kitchen was, as one previous poster mentioned, not ideal as the central light results in shadows from your own body over the sink and cooker. Above average average ambient noise from adjacent units, particularly from above, suggested no sound proofing and, again, cheap construction.

Several choices of swimming pool - kids' with a maximum depth of one foot, a lazy river, a couple of jacuzzis, and a regular pool. However, 9am on the first morning the pool area looked as if it hadn't been cleaned from the previous night.

Golf courses surround the complex but as I know nothing about golf, all I can say is that it looked like a pleasant place to while away a few hours.

A shop on-site provides all the essentials, though closes early at 8pm (I think 9pm at the weekend). There are grocery stores a few miles away.

Parking is a little limited. We always found a space, albeit not necessarily in front of the building we were staying in.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms suffer less from noise. The buildings around the main pool area are noisy until arou...

The facility is beautiful but the service is nonexistant. Now this may be their business model but it is not for me. Even when we'd send the kids for simple things like that we got only 2 washclothes for a 2 bedroom condo with 5 guests they get turned away.
There is no service, no housekeeping, no assistance, to sundries, no resturant even close, no alot of things.... and you even have to clean your own room when you are done.
This is not vacation to me. The only thing that does work well is their security, which is needed because this area is becoming more and more blighted.
It is a beautiful building but that is about it.

We had a Great Stay at this Vacation Resort. We spent ten days at the Resort through the Memorial Holiday weekend. We arrived the Tuesday before the Holiday weekend and it felt like we had the place almost by ourselves. We were in a building away from the pools and it was very peaceful. It was just my wife and I, so we had plenty of room in the two bedroom we stayed in. The grounds were kept so nice and very clean. Everyone was very helpful and plenty of staff was on hand at all times. The pools were terrific, very clean, plenty of brand new chairs and lounges. there was ample shaded areas at the pools to catch a break from the desert sun. So many day trips in the area and sights to see. Plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the area, the ten days went by way to quickly. The only negative I would have for this resort is being charged for WiFi. It's 2012, WiFi is free at a Motel 6, but you have to pay for it at your timeshare resort?

Room Tip: I would recommend the buildings further from the pool areas. It's not a long walk and it will be...

We stayed in a ground level 2 bdrm/2bath unit in Building 10 at the far end of the property. The condo was well stocked and fairly comfortable. The beds were a little harder than we're used to, but we have nice pillow top mattresses @ home (maybe we're spoiled). The living room furniture is comfortable (compared to other Wyndham/World Mark properties).

The main negative was the thin walls between each unit. This must be a result of poor construction? We had to call security on our next door neighbor, after pounding on the walls for them to quiet down... well after midnight.

The grounds were immaculately groomed...just beautiful..right on the golf course. Unfortunately, any shopping or activities do involve some driving. Palm Springs is about a 30 mile drive, etc. The resort itself does offer 2 nice pool areas (one w/a "Lazy River" feature), jacuzzis, a nice weight room, DVD rentals, a small library and a little store.

Overall, this is a top notch resort...other than a few problems (i.e. sleep quality due to very thin walls and the distance from town) WorldMark Indio is worth coming back to.

Room Tip: A top floor unit may be preferable, if there are noisy neighbors.
