“Nice view, great breakfast buffet but only mediocre dinner!”
Reviewed March 19, 2012 via mobile

The view from the outdoor dining area is lovely, and the breakfast buffet is great. The breakfast buffet is fresh and offers many great choices (including make-your-own juice bar!).

The dinner leaves a lot to be desired. The sundried tomato butter that is provided with the bread basket is too strong for the olive rolls that have a wonderful flavor all their own. The kids pasta with butter had no butter to speak of. When we asked why it was taking so long for our son's milk to be served, a heavily accented waitress told us that they were "still making it". We're they milking the cow?! The food was only fair but pricey. Cava is an ok option if you have to stay at the hotel, but I would recommend getting out and enjoying the many other great restaurants in the area!

“A bit overpriced, but worth it for the view!”

Can sit outside with amazing view. Service is excellent and food is good. High price for what you get, but worth it in this case.

Food fantastic, very good place in the middle of the city center. We had an excellent time and the service was as good as the food.

“Delicious and fresh”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

We stayed for one night at the Renaissance Esmeralda Indian Wells on our Christmas Holiday road trip, and ate a dinner when we arrived and then breakfast the next morning at Cava Restaurant.

The dinner was very good. We were surprised that here, in the desert, the salad bar ingredients were very fresh and green, and were told they were very local - grown in Indian Wells itself. My wife ordered the evening Prix Fixe dinner with salmon on cous cous, and found it pretty good and an excellent value (only $14.95 for 3 courses). I ordered the "Wild Sea Bass" and it was considerably more ($26) but excellent. We were on the AAA "Kid's eat free" rate for the hotel, so our son got a large bowl of pasta with marinara sauce. He liked it so much, he asked for a 2nd bowl - and finished that as well (and yes, it was free too).

Breakfast in the morning had an extensive buffet, with fruit, breads, pastries, cheeses, and the usual hot items. It wasn't cheap, however - $14 for a Continental buffet, $22 for the full buffet. I went for the Continental, and it was all very fresh and good. My wife just ordered French Toast a la carte, and our son had some berries and a bowl of cereal.

So, overall, not super cheap, but very good food, and certainly worth what we paid for it.
