I love this resort and it is my favorite place to stay in the desert. They offer great specials throughout the year. I find the pool side service in the summer is lacking but the food and cocktails are good and reasonably priced. It is a great place for a girlfriend getaway or a quiet romantic stay.

Room Tip: If you want to be at the main pool, ask for a room in the front of the resort.

The Miramonte was the last of our hotels from a long family road trip and impressed us on our arrival. We had booked and paid for our luxury room 11 months ago but was offered an upgrade on arrival at a $35 cost, which after checking the room we agreed to take. The room was spacious and on the ground floor (1st floor) and had a small patio area leading to the pool. The room had two queen beds and a TV, and a lounge area consisting of a queen pull out sofa bed and further TV. The room was clean and comfortable but very dark and had to have all the lights on although it was a sunny 40 degrees outside. The aircon didn't feel cold enough, and we felt uncomfortable in the night. We were disappointed with a brochure that was left in the room for Robertos Pizza and as we had children (teen) with us looked forward to a pizza dinner as the prices seemed reasonable. No - we were wrong - when we turned up at the restaurant we were told that they could only serve the pizza as room service or at the pool. But we wanted to eat them outside in the garden area outside from the bar - I thought we were the customer?! We gave in as we were all tired from a long drive that day and resorted to having the Pizzas delivered to our room which took over 1/2 hour. By delivering to our room they could then charge a further 20% and $3 service on top of the menu price. Now not such a good idea. Misleading advertising. We also noted that even when drinks were ordered and paid for at the bar we were charged 20% on top - but this was inconsistent too. The pool was a lovely and spacious location and towels were freely available. Although I didn't use it there was an on site Spa facility offering expensive treatments but also charging 20% on top of the advertised price. If I want to tip on a great service, I will, but i feel it ludicrous to falsely advertise a price when you cannot pay that price. On checking out we made our views known to the receptionist who duly tried to charge a further $35 for the TWO night stay. We clarified that we were told $35 for the upgrade and not PER NIGHT. We therefore paid the taxes on top of the $35 and a $8 plus tax self park fee which is unnecessary. So all in all, although a lovely location and superb backdrop of the mountains, as other reviews have quoted, be aware of the further hidden charges.

The resort itself was nice and somewhat clean. My brother and I stayed there with our families. As soon as he walked into his bathroom, there were roaches in the tub. That was a bad start, but we tried to be positive so we tried to enjoy the rest of our stay. In regards to my room, we had a suite on the first floor. I could not sleep due to the constant walking from tenants above. Its not the hotel's fault, but the light walking from the tenants above could be heard as if someone was stomping deliberately on the floor to annoy us. HUGE PROBLEM:What they don't tell you about the hotel is that there are a ton of hidden fees. We got a great deal for a two night stay, but at the end of our stay, we paid over $250 on additional resort fees, gratuity fees, service fees, and yes, even SELF parking fees!! We did get some dinner vouchers which were great, and some spa vouchers; however, there is a minimum amount of time that you must schedule a spa visit before the voucher can apply. For example, in order to use $25 dollar credit, you must book at 60 minute massage which runs for over $150, then you MUST pay a 20% gratuity and service fee. At checkout, there were several people complaining with the checkout dest one after another. It was pretty sad. For the price that we ended up paying at the end of it all, I'd should had stayed at the Hilton across the street. I would give this place a 4 or 5 if the hotel cancelled all of its hidden fees and kept it to a minimum. Resort fee alone were about $30 per day, thats too much.

Room Tip: Find a hotel that doesn't charge as many hidden fees so and get a better deal.

Lovely spa experience, staff were wonderful....personal touches.
Room service needs improvement. Second time staying here and this room was not quite as well appointed as my previous room.....still comfortable and clean, just not as luxurious as previous stay. Bath products seem to have changed (the lotion they had previously was amazing).
Summer room service hours were not posted so we were unable to order an evening snack and were super hungry all night.....but the spa staff were incredible and the housekeeping staff were so responsive and welcoming....really went above and beyond to make the experience memorable.

We had a great time here and really enjoyed the hotel - the grounds were very well maintained and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
You must know, however, that when you stay here you are going to end up paying more than you expected.
We booked a room at the special summer rate of $89. After the daily $28 resort fee, $8 self parking fee and a host of other inexplicable taxes - we ended up paying $140 per night - still not bad for a resort of this caliber but a 60% markup on the room rate!
Also, we came here with a baby and were disappointed that they did not have a real crib - instead they had one of those "Porto-cribs" - so needless to say, the baby was uncomfortable and ended up sleeping in our bed the whole night.

I have recommended this resort to all of my friends. Definitely had an amazing time and the resort is top notch. We were offered an upgraded room to the Presidential Suite...OMG! Amazing!! I would recommend accepting this offer if you get the opportunity to stay in this suite. Ours was right next to the swimming pool, lobby and the fitness center. Everything turned out better than we expected.

Room Tip: Definitely book the Dolce Villa room or above. If you get the chance to stay in the Presidential Su...

We have stayed at this resort twice! The second time was on the house b/c the first time was such a disaster. I appreciate the gesture - but there will not be a third time - even if the resort offered it for free. The hotel is essentially a 70's motel that has been made over. The pictures of the pool make it look more impressive than it is. The first time we stayed for a weekend away from the kids - the hotel had a radio station weekend. Strewn around the pool were tattooed and drunken 20 somethings - would have been nice to know when we booked. The second time we stayed brought our kids. This time the hotel was sold out to a wedding party - apparently - everyone but us. Our room was literally shaking until past 10 p.m. with music from DJ. Neither stay was what we were looking for.
