This is a very good hotel. You'll find better, but they do everything well - just nothing is amazing.

* Rooms - Large, very comfortable, and well-maintained. It just looks like everything was installed sometime around 1998 (except the TVs are new, I'll give them that). No complaints, but you won't walk in and go "wow".

* Pools - The adult pool is fabulous, beautiful, and quiet. The other pools are... ok. Nothing wrong with them, but I generally think the reviews are a little generous. However, all the water at each pool is crystal clear. I don't know where this TripAdvisor "murky water" rumor started, but it's simply not true.

* Food - We ate by the pool a couple times, it's simple but good American food. The Regency Club breakfast was good, but the snacks and desserts were just plain weird. In hindsight, I wish we had saved the money and simply made a trip to a local grocery store to load up on breakfast items.

* Service - Everyone is quite friendly and eager to help. A+

* Spa - GORGEOUS. Again, I don't understand some of the lukewarm reviews of the facility. It's not particularly large, but it's extremely relaxing and well appointed. The massages we received were great as well.

* Location - Huge fan. In the eyes of this tourist, greater Palm Springs is really divided into two areas along a 20 mi stretch. This hotel is in the very appealing Indian Wells / Palm Desert area. It's almost entirely big resorts, golf clubs, restaurants, and shopping, with some of the basics for the locals thrown in. The area closer to Palm Springs proper? Meh. It's a 25 min drive away and frankly kind of depressing when you enter downtown Palm Springs. No need to make the trek.

While not blown away, I'd definitely stay here again if returning to the area.

Room Tip: Both pool and golf-course sides are good views. Can't really go wrong.

Dear CardKirb08,

Thank you for your insightful comments about your recent stay. We are a little disappointed that you did not find an "amazing" moment during your stay, but we happily accept the kind words about the Spa, food quality, pools, and location. A guest room update is on our radar and the lobby areas, Agave patio, Citrus Cafe and many of the suite are already completed.

No that you have discovered the perfect central location of Indian Wells. we look forward to a future opportunity to wow you!

Best Regards-

This hotel has the most beautiful landscaping and grounds. Tons of palm trees, a little lake, waterfall, 7 pools. Loved it. Rooms could use a bit of an update. Headboards were dirty. My roommates found the pillows uncomfortable. No complaints about anything else. Rooms are large and fit 3 ladies fine. Large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Our balcony looked out over the pools. Great view. We were there at a quiet time, so there were lots of lounges available at the adult pool. Literally no one at the other pools. All staff were extremely friendly. The agave sunset restaurant was fun on a Saturday night. Great band- lots of dancing. Starbucks in the entrance was a bonus. We checked out the surrounding hotels; no comparison as far as the ground, activities and pools go. We will be back.

Room Tip: Room over looking the pool. Doesn't get much direct sun.

We stayed at the property during a conference and were impressed. The rooms were a bit dated but the service and staff were outstanding. There were numerous kids activities including a very popular pool slide as wel as mini-golf. If you spend any amount of time at the pool, make sure and try the SoCal Colada. Being from Texas, my wife and I were new to this twist on an old favorite but are sold. Overall, a very good property but I wonder why we weren't offered access to the Regency Club since we are platinum members.....

Room Tip: Make sure and ask for access to the Regency Club if you are a platinum member.

Location is fine if you don't plan to leave the resort. Everything needed for a great weekend stay is here in the combined property. If you do plan to leave, have a car.
This is what one learns to expect from the Hyatt people. It's well maintained, customer service is great, rooms are spacious and comfortable...
What's not to like about Hyatt? I've yet to have a significant complaint in all of my visits to their properties. They are exceptional in attending to their business.

This is a nice hotel! The public areas of the hotel are nice and new... the rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. I have a thing about hotel toiletries.... I can't stand when they're the crappy generic hotel stuff; I like when they're an actual brand. And this hotel had that! They have a great little coffee bar in the middle of their gift shop (which has lots of cool stuff!). They're bar area has extremely overpriced appetizer type meals which is a downside. I was there for work, but if you have a family - this place is big time family friendly!

We started staying at this hotel over 15 years ago, but haven't been back for at least 10. What a difference! Even though they have remodelled to a new "modern" style (but kept much of the same furniture), the hotel is in dire need of of some TLC. It is dingy, dirty, and tired. The TV wouldn't show channels other than pay-per-view until I called. They said they would send someone up, and then magically it started to work within a minute after the call. The breakfast buffet was marginal, and it just seemed as if the hotel is trying to make money without putting anything back into the property.

On the bright side, the pools hadn't changed and are nice and the bed was extremely comfortable.

This is a very nice hotel and we stayed in a penthouse suite which was fabulous. The Regency club was the best I have been to with the food and service. The chefs make foods such as breakfast burritos, mini pizzas, homemade croissants, bagels and fresh salads with yellow beets, couscous and seeded flat bread to go with the big selection. They even use locally made jams and regional foods such as dates from where else, but the date capitol.
The staff eagerly wait on the guests and offer a selection of alcoholic drinks (small fee), sodas, water, coffees and juices. Mini desserts are served in the evening, a variety of fruit mousses and cheesecake were the favorites.
We ate the fish tacos at the pool bar and they are delicious with a little kick to them. Don't miss the homemade potato chips with dip, they are addictive.
For a relaxing time, the club is great with no rushing around and great food.
