Description: TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem with amazing culinary talent, some of which have gone on to The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY and Le Cordon Bleu, the Aroma kitchen team uses classic recipes infused with unique, original ingredients, to create beautiful dishes with French, Nuevo Latino, Asian and SoCal influences. Cafe Aroma proudly supports our local farmers, wineries and brewers and features fresh, organic, and sustainable products, along with vegetarian and gluten free options. A unique bistro-gallery experience, featuring some of Idyllwild's most well-known and accomplished artists, featured in two-month, rotating exhibits. Idyllwild's hippest and funkiest dining establishment, Cafe Aroma is the hot spot on "The Hill." Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with great snacks and desserts and an assortment of bottled micro-brews and local, artisan wines, indoors or out, on our free Wi-Fi enabled patio deck, the inspiration of Cafe Aroma's "accidental owner" for the last 12 years, Hubert Halkin. Hubert's list of deeds is long, including being an Idyllwild resident for many years, Professor Emeritus and Department Chair of Mathematics at UCSD, a mean bridge player, and all around groovy Frenchman. Not to mention...You won't believe what he can demonstrate table-side with a straw and your Osso Bucco bone! Music is one of the cafe's cornerstones, and features an amazing array of talented musicians, known locally, regionally and nationally. It's no wonder that, among musicians, Cafe Aroma's outdoor stage is known as the Madison Square Garden of Idyllwild! The community of Idyllwild is an eclectic collection of souls, comprised of entrepreneurs, artists of every flavor, hipsters and church-goers, authors and meditators, some really cool, old school jazz cats, and a few belly dancers and ballerinas. Cafe Aroma is the gathering place for everyone, the place to "see and be seen" and features the most dog-friendly patio around. Restaurant, Art Gallery, Social Club and a Home Away From Home...If your home was this cool!

It was a Tuesday night and there were a jazz band alive. Love jazz and good food. A little pricey but the experience was good. Good food, nice and quiet environment.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner. This place won't disappoint. Dog friendly, patio seating, nice personal touches on the food - like flower petals sprinkled on my OJ.

Our high-top table for two on the outdoor patio coupled with super-friendly service by Rachel, and delicious drinks and food made my birthday dinner perfect! We dined Saturday night at 7 pm (and were glad we had reservations). We were seated right away. The Pink Flamingo drink was a highlight! The hubby and I shared three courses then had our own dessert. Angels on Horseback starter is amazing! Salads are big enough to share. The ravioli with shrimp was yummy too, and the carrot cake with a birthday candle sealed the deal. My husband loved his chocolate stout float! Oh, and the warm bread with garlic-infused olive oil was too good--I ate too much! Good thing I hiked the next day. Can't wait to go back! A stay at the Grand Idyllwild Lodge and dinner at Café Aroma = perfect weekend!

Great entertainment outside, lovely 2 person band on Saturday afternoon, and Friday night was also good entertainment. The food is always good and it's just a great place to relax, listen to music and have some good food! The waitress was really good, she took care of us on Friday night. Very pleased, we come here from Temecula quite frequently just to come up here for lunch.

A delightful indoor/outdoor restaurant with frequent evening outdoor entertainment (at least in the summer). The first night we really enjoyed the violin, not so much the sitar on the second night (I'm glad we were inside the second night.) Chenay took excellent care of us, inspiring us to return twice during our vacation. She's very helpful with personal favorites and suggestions in response to our questions. Among our favorites: heated appetizer almonds, the appetizer olives, portbello ravioli, balsamic salad with pine nuts, Craggy Ridge Sauvignon Blanc.
