“Calm Relaxing Retreat”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

If you are interested in fresh air, beautiful stars at night, and a calm environment you will find it at Quiet Creek. The facilities and cabins are very nice, the staff is polite and the nearby town of Idyllwild is very nice. The cabins include a long burning wax/sawdust logs for a real nice fireplace experience. Take peanuts with you as the squirrels will run up to you begging for some.

Room Tip: All units are nice

Certainly lives up to it's name! We had a Living Social deal (personally I think you can tell a lot about a business from the way they treat people who have discounts; I've had some pretty horrible experiences at businesses who use LS and Groupon). I'm so glad they advertised with LS because we had such an enjoyable stay! The staff is friendly and Jim was great about recommending some places to eat in town; even gave us a tip that Cafe Aroma has 1/2 price bottle of wine on Monday nights!

Luciana gave me a wonderful prenatal massage and I cannot say enough how amazing the CranioSacral therapy was! I didn't even go in expecting to have that done, but after mentioning that I had been in a few rear-end car accidents in my life she really wanted to help me with that. WOW. My neck has not felt so fantastic since I can't remember when! Highly, highly recommend making an appointment with her. Her prices are very reasonable, too. She is also the yoga instructor and we had a great yoga session with her, Jim, Mike and a few other regulars on Monday afternoon.

Loved the cabin. We stayed in a queen studio and it was just the right size. The heater kept us plenty warm. We enjoyed watching movies in the evening while having a little fire going in the fireplace. They have a large selection of DVDs (and VHS, ha!) and popcorn for guests in the barn's guest lounge. During the day, we walked around the neighborhood and sat out on our cabin's patio and read and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.

The location is about a 5 minute drive from the center of town. I think it's probably too far too walk. But the grounds are so beautiful and there are plenty of little spots to sit and enjoy them, including a collection of chairs and a picnic bench down by the creek!

I'm going to have to knock off a point for the bathroom :( It could use a fan so that the mildew doesn't build up so much. I know shower doors are tricky to clean (I have them myself), but the mold/mildew around the bottom of the door was rather yucky. However, the water gets HOT quickly, the water pressure is very good and you don't have to duck to get under the shower head even if you are tall (hey, the little things like this matter!).

The Living Social deal came with a little continental breakfast basket and the home made muffins were so tasty, the fruit was fresh and delicious and we enjoyed our complimentary Martinelli's (instead of champagne) with that meal. Great way to end our relaxing stay.

I would absolutely recommend to friends and stay here again myself.

Room Tip: Queen studio is just right for a couple

we stayed in # 6; What a relief that it was better than expected!
we had a lovely suite of a living room with comfortable attractive furniture , a TV and a fireplace with a " log " + a ceiling fan; outside we had a large deck with a private corner with chairs for relaxing while facing boulders , birds, tall trees and the Creek.
A separate bed room had a good king size bed and knotted pine ceiling. Totally quiet except for the heater turning on and off!
We also had a large handicap friendly bathroom (and also outdoor ramp)
small kitchenette well equipped for simple cooking.
good art and decorative touches but dated wall paper in a few places..
The barn had games, books, and DVDs which we could borrow.
All staff friendly and helpful.
We hope to go back and spend more time soon!
from the South take 17 to 79 to 371 ANZA then 74 N !Amazing landscapes with frequent panoramas

Room Tip: yoga and massage offered we liked the king size suite for two

I had the most relaxing, quiet and fabulous week in unit no 3. Could not have had a better view and room. I had two small dogs who also had a great time. The owners were very pet friendly. They were also very occomidating re my needs, restaurants and the amenities in the area. All of their staff were exceptional. Will definitely be back. Loove the Quiet Creek Inn.

Quiet Creek Inn has been our Idyllwild place to stay for nearly 20 years. While Idyllwild is a lovely mountain setting, this particular inn has one of the most charming forest locations of all. Each of the 10 cabins is equipped with a compact refrigerator and microwave oven along with firewood for the fireplace. The bed is comfortable, there is plenty of storage space and the cabin is well-maintained and clean. The outdoor deck overlooks Strawberry Creek and is a soothing spot to read and enjoy a glass of wine. The owners are friendly and helpful and are extremely interested in making sure your experience is what it should be. There are two cabins that are pet-friendly. The prices are reasonable and regular visitors can obtain a discount. There is also a guest lounge area across from the cabins that has plenty of books, board games and movies to borrow.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet but if there are two of you, the extra space of the one bedroom cabins (as oppo...

I love these cottages in the mountains. They are comfy, with all the amenities you want and need. My cabin had a kitchen with a small fridge, microwave, and even a real stove-top. There are literally hundreds of movies you can borrow to watch.

My wife and I stayed in Idylwild Sept. 16h and 17th and this was our 2nd visit to the Quiet Creek Inn. The owners/Managers we pleasant and responsive on the phone with our reservation. Upon arrival, they were warm and pleasant as well. A nice suprise is being greeted by their three dogs and a cat. The cat, two small dogs and one large one were all sweethearts. The grounds are quite serene looking (actually a registered nature preserve) with a communal cabin replete with a piano, computer for guests, refrigerator with soft drinks (only 1.00 each), microwave and popcorn, etc. There are hand carts available to put your luggage in and transport from your car to the cabin. Nice! There are 10 duplex cabins, each with own deck. Our's was the #1 cabin. All overlook Strawberry Creek and waking up in the morning and sitting on the deck for breakfast with Jays, Squirrels chattering is a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle. What I like about Quiet Creek Inn is that it's some distance from town and well away from the main road. Aside from some neighbor's barking dogs during the day, truly a quiet experience. Overall, the cabins are clean, nicely appointed and are a good value. The owners/mangers were informative about the area and provided us an adventure pass to allow us to park our car and hike in the National forrest. We'll look forward to staying here again and the hospitality of it's owners/managers.
