“You will sleep like a baby!”
Reviewed August 14, 2010

My teenage daughter and I stayed in Room 12. The room was wonderful and rustic. It was so nice to get away from the city. We slept better than we have in years. The scones were delicious and were the highlight of our trip. Kathleen was a gracious host and such a nice lady. We will definitely stay here again. Although there is not any air conditioning, with the breeze blowing through the windows and the 2 fans provided, it was perfect.

Thank you so much for such a pleasant stay.

We arrived mid afternoon and check out our room, it was very hot, but we were told to open the bathroom window and the other windows and we put the fan on. You could not stay in the room without being very hot and sweating. We went down town and shopped for several hours, came back early evening still to hot to stay in our room, went up to a small lake then out to dinner. Finally at 8:30PM we could use the room. We talked to 4 ladies who rented a cabin at the end and they did have AC but it was not working. They had a reservation for 3 nights and said they would be moving out, it they could not get the AC working. We were very disappointed in the breakfast basket, the bananas were very bruised and soft. The organic oatmeal is not something you enjoy on a hot summer morning. In all fairness the scone was good. If you go in the summer, remember it will be very hot in your room!!!!

I rented a cabin on impulse, I got really lucky. My cabin was rustic looking, but had wonderful accomodations, including a jacuzzi tub. The view from the balcony was a wooded delight. There was air conditioning and heating to your own desire. A kitchen area that had all you need, fridge, stove microwave, coffeemaker with all the fixings. The breakfast was great. I felt welcome and very comfortable. Will go again, no doubts.

Cute appearance on first glance. Showers were small and rusty/crusty. Kitchenette (?) no microwave. Nice LARGE black bumble bee hives made the back deck unusable.

The Beds were HORRIBLE. Backache from total taco effect. Asked for another room and was told the beds are all the same. Neither I nor my companion are overweight so that wasn't the issue with the tacoing. I would have rather slept on the floor and nearly did. Would not be writing this except for the fact that we asked for a better bed for the second night and were told we couldn't have one/there wasn't one better leaving me to wish to warn others that this might be a poor choice unless you will be the only one on the bed.

Just a small side note. We were gone all day hiking and came back and the room had not been serviced. I am guessing it is only cleaned after guests check out?

50's style motel with modern prices. Very small and extra small shower with low water pressure. Paper thin walls. Old appliances, wall and floor heaters, wifi kept cutting off. Paid $15 extra per person for hike and map of trails to breakfast (which was one very good french toast), but did not get anytype of discount when I asked for map to hike. Was just told sorry no map and trails closed due to weather. I understand weather can not be controlled but I paid for hike to breakfast and did not receive.

We had a really nice weekend stay in February 2010 in the larger of the two cabins at the Strawberry Creek Inn Bunkhouse. We were looking to get away from work stress, and this was the perfect retreat. It was cozy with a fireplace and very comfy sectional sofa to watch tv and read in the living room. The bedroom was warm and inviting, and the Aveda bath products complemented the spa-like setting of the bathroom, which was complete with slate tile and jetted tub. The décor in general was very warm and contemporary. Breakfast was just as stated on their web site – fresh scones, oatmeal packets, fruit and juice. We took advantage of the full, well-equipped kitchen, cooking up our couple of simple dinners and supplementing the continental breakfast basket with eggs and sausage for a more substantial mid-morning meal. My only word of caution is that this cabin is very close to the highway, and there was some road noise and headlights throughout the night, although it did die off eventually. The innkeeper was kind enough to show us the vacant lower cabin, and it was more secluded but much, much smaller.

All in all, we definitely enjoyed our stay at the bunkhouse cabin, and we look forward to going back.

Strawberry Creek Bunkhouse was a revelation. Wonderful rooms with the feeling of staying in a log cabin. And for breakfast the host, Kathleen served delicious homemade scones, jam, fruit, etc delivered at the door. The bathroom was small, with a stand-up shower. The deck felt private -and overlooks a wooded area. Overall a wonderful experience. Only low point is that the TV remote wasn't working and we did not want to wake the host up at 9 pm.
