We stopped in for dinner on our last night at the coast and the place was packed, with karaoke. The dinning seemed to be in the bar or with a bar at the side. Our server (JenniferLLL) was overwhelmed with all the tables. My husband sat beer-less for several minutes while she danced to whatever song was being sung by other patrons, she did this several times during our short stay. My husbands Rib Sandwich was unremarkable and my Chop Salad was just a salad, thankfully it was relatively inexpensive. Don't think we will make the effort to stop again, not our style!

While not affiliated with the legendary Don the Beachcomber, this represents an authentic revival of tiki in Southern California. The restaurant was very quiet on a week night although the bar was busier. The atmosphere was not as over the top as some original tiki bars/restaurants but still with a complete and legitimate tiki feel. The menu was varied and I was very pleased with their version of a barbecue rib sandwich. Service was attentive. If you don't bust your budget on a souvenir glass, but you should, dinner and drinks were reasonable. The LA area is blessed with a number of tiki locations, including some in business from the heyday but Don's makes a nice addition to the collection and an admirable nod to one of the founders of the theme.

Celebrated my friend's birthday here. Atmosphere is good and they had a cool Blues band playing on Fridays. Appetizers are amazing! Try the Ahi poke tacos!! Main dishes Huli Huli chicken was perfect . Service was outstanding!

My sister and I took my daughter out for her 30th birthday dinner here. It was so much fun! The drinks are great and the service was outstanding. She wanted the old Hawaiian atmosphere and it really delivers.

We had a $40.00 Groupon for this visit and decided to visit for Early Dinner / Happy Hour. We dined in the Bar Area in a very comfortable booth. Party of 2.

Service- Our service was very prompt and very friendly. As in most bar/dining areas the bartender works the bar plus takes orders for food and drink. Vinny was the bartender and was fantastic. All items were delivered with a smile and request if we needed any other items along with follow ups during the meal to make sure that our meal was satisfactory etc.

Ambiance- OLD SCHOOL Hawaiian. My wife and I loved it. Yes we are Senior Citizens and have been going to Hawaii since 1968. Low key, laid back with much nostalgia.

Drinks - First time we ever ordered a Zombie. WOW! We can see why there is a limit of 2 per person. Steep price at $12.00 each but well worth the price.

Food - Tuesday Nite Special is Snow Crab. Lot's of moist, not dried out crab legs with all the fixins.
Huli Huli Chicken - The best we have ever had, including the Huli Huli Ckn. in Hawaii. Side dishes of Coconut Rice etc. were fantastic. Included fresh Hawaiian Rolls and butter. Salads were chilled and fresh.

Checkout Don The Beachcomber Website for daily specials. Happy Hour is great.

As a side note, our Groupon did not include Specials but Vinny allowed us to use for Crab Legs which is $14.99 on Tuesday's.

Will return soon. one of the Top 10 Dinners we have ever enjoyed.
