“Nice weeklong stay with family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Stayed here with my wife and two kids for 6 nights, while attending a family wedding. Spacious room with 2 queen beds, very clean. Staff even left some bottled-water in the room when we arrived. Liked the full hot breakfast. Excellent locatiion (2.5 miles to beach), lots of retail and restaurant options on Beach Blvd. Great value.

Room Tip: If you don't like climbing stairs ask for a room closer to the lobby/entrance where there is an...

We stayed at the Best Western when in town for a wedding recently and found the room perfectly pleasant and clean.

I was a little worried about a first floor room, which can be noisy, but was also willing to take it since we were quite early for check-in. The room was quiet throughout our stay. The room was very large, with a King Beautyrest bed (which was a little soft for my taste), a decent television, and an easy chair. The pillows were rather stiff and uncomfortable. The closet had extra blankets and the heater worked a little too well. The bathroom had a little basket with a comb, razor, floss-picks, shower cap, makeup remover, and shaving cream. That's an unexpected touch in a motel.

One thing to be aware of is that the lights are connected to motion sensors, so if you leave the light on in the bathroom it will eventually turn itself off. This is great, unless you walk back into the bathroom in the middle of the night, when the motion sensor will restore the light and fan to their on position, which is a little jarring at 4 a.m.

Really, the only reason I didn't rate this excellent is that I usually stay in hotels and prefer the interior hallways and added privacy I find there. But there was not one thing to complain about here so do not hesitate to make your reservation!

Pleasant stay over Christmas. Employees were professional and friendly. Breakfast room was clean and food was fresh and appealing. The location was very convenient for visiting our family on Christmas.

We travel a lot through Southern California and are Best Western Club members so we almost always stay at BW hotels. The staff at this particular hotel is truly the best by far of any BW in So. Cal.!!

It's the small things-

Slept better here, one night ($72 +$8 tax), than the night before at an Aliso Viejo area ($149) spa resort.

3rd floor: large room, clean, quiet, huge king bed, fridge, no microwave.

What impressed me was the bathroom basket with: disposable razor, shaving cream packet, comb, cotton swabs, and 2 floss picks.

So that you know, this hotel has become our home away from home this year. We have stayed many times and are happy with the hotel. There are nicer hotels along the PCH, but we really don't want to pay $50 a night for parking. We also enjoy the free breakfast that they offer here. There is the added value in the free breakfast, but there is an additional value in the time that we save during our vacation by not needing to take time out and go to a restaurant.

The pool is no longer heated for the season. We wish that it was heated all year long, but understand that it really wouldn't be utilized enough to warrant the additional cost to the hotel to do this. The pool is located in the parking lot. The spa is heated all year long, which works fine for us.

The rooms are larger than most regular motel/hotel rooms. They have newer flat screen tv's in the rooms. Some of the rooms have the sink area outside the bathroom, others don't. The wifi worked really well this past trip. We connected our computer to the tv and watched HBO go and Netflix in the room. The staff has also been very nice and allowed us to use the microwave in the breakfast room to pop popcorn during past visits. Our rooms were nice and clean. I am a bit of a clean freak and we wipe every surface imaginable with clorox wipes when we arrive and we haven't had a dirty wipe here. That is not always the case with other hotels. We will continue to wipe the rooms down though, you never know.

The staff were very helpful again this trip. We went to Disneyland one morning and needed yogurt to give my daughter her medicine before we left. At 6 am, the staff at the front desk got her a yogurt and asked what type she wanted first. We were impressed! Also, we had an issue with another guest. The staff were as helpful as they could be. They handled the situation to the best of their ability and were concerned about us. That is all that we could ask for.

We have another trip planned here soon. Like I said, it really has become our home away from home.

The location and price were great. Breakfast was good. The rooms were a little outdated and not as clean as they should be. The sleeper sofa had stains on it and there was a funky smell in the room. But for the price and location it was acceptable. They could probably do without the $1.50 bottle of Walmart water when a case costs $3.00. A little silly.
