“Love this drive, makes me so glad to live in Southern California!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

I love driving from my place in North HB, hitting PCH at Warner and taking it down to my wife's house in Corona Del Mar off of Bayside! Such a gorgeous drive, almost always great weather and besides a few creepy old tourists it is a great place to kick it and drive down the coast. Such amazing views and great for the whole family! <3

“"Beautiful So Cal Beaches .Huntington Beach the Best"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Although we have many beautiful beaches along the So Cal coast, as a Huntington Beach resident we think ours is the best. Wide sand beach, ample parking (City lot $15) of course due to its popularity can be crowded in summer months especially on weekends. Over 200 fire rings on the sand to enjoy hot dog and Smores parties. Several eateries available on the beach, some open year around. Bicycle, umbrella and other rental activity items avalable. A wide paved bike/ walking path that stretches from Seal Beach to the north to Newport Beach to the south.

“OC Coast Has It All”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

The Orange Co. coast has something for everybody. The beach of course-all types depending on your taste. Long and sandy, rocky w/tide pools, cliffs with no sand, coves with very little waves, surfing waves, etc. If you can't find the beach perfect for you, you aren't looking. Every ocean water sport is available. Shopping (quaint shops to world famous shopping centers), dining, etc. Expect crowded conditions during the summer months and beach parking is usually an issue.

“Crowded”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

Being from the southeast, you just don't get beaches nicer than the Gulf of Mexico, and AL/FL in particular. We knew the sand wouldn't be as white, and is a more coarse. The walk from the parking lots is broad and crowded. In the more congested areas, litter is in the sand although it seems they try to rake it/grade it but on what frequency, it's hard to tell.

It is very crowded compared to what we are used to, and we were there in the busy season. It was not relaxing to be amidst masses of people vying for a spot in the sand or water. It's probably the only beach spots for the entire West Coast besides Mexico, and at times it felt like we were in Mexico.

The waves are larger than the gulf, which the kids enjoyed (and watching surfers). But a special beach? Not Santa Monica to Laguna Beach - not a tranquil spot. The drive was more enjoyable.
