“Very enjoyable experience from check in to departure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2010

My wife and I spent 6 nights at this resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from check-in to departure with outstanding service and friendliness. Everyone from the restaurant(s), the spa, the maids and even the maintenance staff were friendly and seemed to genuinely care that the stay was enjoyable. The landscaping and ground keeping were excellent.

The nicest hotel I've stayed in by far!!! The lagoon pool and concierge level was so fantastic! And the night time view of the beach and the grounds were amazing! I was a little surprised to see the furniture in the bathroon nicked a bit, but overall luxury at it's best!!!!

Love, love, love this hotel. I've stayed there a few times for work and I also went there last year for Valentine's Day. It is beautiful and you couldn't be in a better location. It is located literally across the beach.

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding night + 1 as a way to relax before heading out to Maui for our honeymoon. I'm very familiar with Huntington Beach and we knew a couple who had stayed at this resort the previous summer, so we felt comfortable booking our first nights as a married couple here.

Let's start off the good parts. The grounds are immaculate and give off an aura of sophistication. The views from the hotel of the beach are beautiful, and Main Street's night life is just a short 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Pacific Waters Spa had a fantastic couples package (sea-stone massage and hydrotherapy bath) that was well worth the price tag.

However, that's where the positive part of this review ends. We stayed in a junior suite (not advertised - you have to know to ask for them), and let me tell you, for $500/night I expect a fully functioning and well furnished room. Our shower door was broken (wouldn't shut totally so water leaked out under it), the mattress was hard and uncomfortable, and the furnishings looked very dated (think Motel 6).

All in all, this is a resort that's not worth its price tag. If you want a great massage, come here, but spend the night elsewhere.

This is one of the best resort in the area. Popular place for family getaway and wedding.

Room is very spacious, standard Hyatt Beds. I love my room facing the adult pool & Jacuzzi. Its very quiet at night. Walking down to Jacuzzi late at night is very relaxing. During the day, go to the main pool to use the water slide, people of all ages would enjoy!

Resort ground is very well kept. There are several dining options on site and they are reasonably priced and food is good for hotel standard!

Their spa is very nice too! Must try it when you have time! Gym opens 24 hours.

The only thing I don't like about this hotel is the parking. Wish there are more cheaper parking options nearby!

Stayed here with a friend for 2 nights in late November as a base for visiting theme parks. My only regret: not having a day to chill at the hotel! This was one of the nicest hotel/resorts I've ever stayed in, if not the nicest. We were upgraded at check-in into a one bedroom suite consisting of large living room and sofa bed, 2 flat-screen TVs, king bedroom and 2 bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi tub. The living room and bedroom had sliding doors that opened onto a private balcony overlooking the courtyard (and could even see/hear the ocean in the distance). I wish I could review some of the many amenities offered, but as we were gone most of the day I wasn't able to take advantage of any of them. I did enjoy the lush and impeccably landscaped grounds, and the little alcoves with fireplaces and heatlamps you walk past on the way to the rooms were a nice touch. Plus, easy access to the beach just across the street. This place has it all!

It is also convenient to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm - about 20 minutes' drive up Beach Blvd. There is about a $20/day parking fee at the hotel, but that's expected.

I will definitely return here, and this time I will make sure to try out the pool and spa and spend more time on the premises. I didn't want to leave!

One last note: please do not eat at the hotel restaurant, the Californian. The service there is nonexistent.

We stayed actually in three rooms, two with my direct family with teens, another with inlaws. The first two rooms were adjoining but the third was a -very- long walk away. This place is huge, which is not to be held against it, but should be used by others planning to have multiple rooms. The swimming areas adjoin the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) which actually adds a lot of noise that takes away from the ambience. In terms of noise, the rooms, surprisingly, allow sound to pass from one to the other. I would have expected better in this class of hotel. In addition, some of the hardware in the rooms, such as the bathroom door hardware, did not work well.
The spa is apparently great with hot tub bathing that my wife claims equals that in Japan, so that is saying a lot. But there is a $16 resort fee to cover that so when I went to try it out after 8pm and it turned out the closing time is 8pm, not amused.
I also did not really want to pay the $24 parking charge so was walking about 1/2 mile to the nearest free on-street parking.
So all in all, a good hotel and recommended, but not perfect.
