I was a little put-off at first with this property -- overtasked valet parkers, conventioneers lined up in the foyer, luggage piled up at the bellman desk. But after being there a couple of days, I saw the hotel in a different light. Yes, it's a destination for large groups and gatherings but the property is large enough that you can avoid the crowds. There are three courtyards centered around water elements -- pools or fountains. Ask for a room around one of the pools so that you won't hear all the revelry around the dolphin fountain reflecting pool
We had a suite facing the ocean. The room was large and the furniture, although very utilitarian, was comfortable. The bed has a pillow-top mattress and high thread count sheets. Hyatt should invest some money in high end towels -- our towels were thread-bare.
There are very good dining options on the property.

Stayed here with my wife for one night Labor Day weekend and wished that we had stayed longer! From check-in to check-out this place impressed. Upon check-in we were offered a generous complimentary upgrade to an oceanfront King bed room which was to die for. Beautiful views of the ocean with your own private balcony to relax while you watch the waves break in the ocean. We explored the resort for a few hours and still didn't see everything that they had to offer. The resort has a shop onsite where we were able to rent bicycles for a more than reasonable rate. A quick walk over a short pedestrian bridge and we were cruising the boardwalk. A great location, a beautiful resort and a staff that bends over backwards to make sure you are having a great time. What more can you ask for?

From check-in to check-out everything was heavenly. I LOVE THIS PROPERTY!! It's my 3rd time staying here and it's a 1st class resort for fun, romance and comfort. The staff is 1st class in terms of customer service and friendliness. The room was immaculate. Breakfast was YUM!! Some of the best hotel omelets I've ever had. Valet was efficient and hospitality was exceptional. It was a hot day and they offered us cold water. Everything was perfect. the management deserves a pat on the back because it would take a lot to keep this huge operation running as smoothly as everything runs here. On the property, you feel like you are in another world. The hotel is filled with little nooks and crannies, hideways, etc. I came with two girlfriends and three 3 of us chose this resort for our girls getaway weekend and it was the right decision and destination. The resort has something for everyone, lovers, families with children, business and leisure. We and my girlfriends commented that it would be the perfect place for a wedding also. The ocean view right across the street is also heavenly. Definitely recommend this property over all others in the area.

We spent a night here last week on another weekend getaway. Immediately upon arrival the staff was friendly and the property was gorgeous with amazing views, ocean breezes, and lots of things to do. We booked an ocean view room but wound up with oceanfront (bonus!) which we enjoyed very much with champagne and charcuterie at sunset. There's easy access to the beach and it's a short walk to the pier but the resort really provided everything we needed so while a walk on the beach was great exercise we ate all our meals on property. We plan to go back one of these days for a longer stay and some relax by the pool time. They were very smart in organizing the property with the (loud) kiddie pool at the end of the property and the quieter pools near the rooms. The only downside is that I woke up several times to the sound of sliding doors opening and closing above our room. I don't know if it was the pocket door to the bathroom or the sliding door to the balcony but it was loud. Oh and there's absolutely no insulation in the walls around the water closet - I could clearly hear what people were saying in the hallway as they passed our room - good thing neither of us got sick on the trip - that would be embarrassing! Overall though, it was a great stay, and as I said we will be back.

Room Tip: Ocean view and hope for an upgrade

Had an absolutely wonderful stay 9/6-9/8 with my sister! Staff was outstanding across the board! The room was amazing so comfortable, spacious and well equipped! The property was beautiful and so peaceful. Great mix of families, couples and adults. Pete's Sunset Grill, Surf City Grocers and Pizza place were perfect casual spots to refuel and relax after beach and pool time. Beach access with chairs, towels and umbrella were exactly what we were looking for with our stay! We will be back as soon as possible. Thanks again.
