Families cannot go wrong here. The service, food, retail shops, and overall experience is heavenly. I'm generally "water slide phobic," but I had as great a time as the kids. The beach is incredible, and if you get too much of the hotel food you can eat at the Wahoo Fish Taco shack directly across the street from the hotel. Some of the things you have to decide each day.

1. Waterslide - at the nicest family pool I've ever been to.
2. Huntington Beach - without paying for parking.
3. Roasting marshmallows in pits scattered around the resort.
4. Lunch at the pool (great menu for everyone), lunch at the beach (Wahoo Fish Taco) or lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants.
5. Diamond Margarita or Mai Thai??

If I were to have to say anything negative, I would have to say that weekends aren't as much fun for me. I like mid week stays.

We needed some R and R and settled and Huntington Beach. We checked in early at about 12:00n and they let us have a room. It was a really nice room on the top floor with a view of the Ocean. There was the top of a Palm tree in front of our window and we enjoyed watching the birds as well. Everything was top notch. The food at the bar was good and every employee we came into contact with was friendly and professional.

The town of Huntington beach has a farmers market/street fair every Tuesday evening it was such fun to see southern California familys enjoying themselves with music and street food. Parking is expensive both at the hotels and in town but it was so enjoyable it was worth every penny.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach two nights for my wife's birthday. This may well be the finest resort/hotel we have ever visited. We upgraded to a suite using Hyatt Gold Passport points and the suite was absolutely magnificent. The staff was terrific, the location perfect, the food and drink great. Only downside was the $65 taxi ride to the Santa Ana train station - a big charge for a short ride.

Room Tip: Opt for a suite.

The Huntington Hyatt is a beautiful and relaxing place to get away in Orange County. I always hope my husband will take me there for my birthday each year!!! It is definitely a favorite of ours. It is right on Pacific Coast Highway, across the street from the ocean/pier. They have a private overpass/walkway right over PCH to take you directly to the sand. Even if you are not a sand and ocean water person, the Hyatt has beautiful pools, bicycle rentals, and a great spa facility. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and they have restaurants and food options on site. Consider asking for a room on the concierge level to make your stay even more enjoyable. If there was a downside, I guess it would be that you may need to take your car to go to the pier and main street... it is definitely walkable, but for older people, they may find it a bit of a walk. You can easily spend days at this resort, and you can always cross over in the evenings to walk on the beach or have a bonfire in the firepits on the beach. Wonderful vacation destination!

This is a great place to stay. Their facilities are very clean and very well kept. The location could not be better. Huntington Beach is directly across the Pacific Coast highway and accessible directly via a bridge right from the hotel property. The food is suspect, as was the service in the bar/restaurant. However, the real problem, and maybe the only problem, at this place are the fees. First, a $25 resort fee. I booked this for work and was in the hotel for only about 7 hours per night. So, these fees seem excessive. Second, the only overnight parking option is valet. There simply isn't anywhere else to park overnight. The hotel clearly knows this, and they charge $36 per night. Then, as if the $36 wasn't forced down your throat enough, the valet people stand around, hovering for a tip. Sorry pals, I was forced to pay an outrageous fee for parking, maybe you should ask Hyatt for a raise.

Room Tip: Few rooms face the ocean directly, and they are probably available only at a steep premium.

The service was friendly from the check in process...thanks Jen, bell boys(Sean), maid(Carmenita) and attendants on a very busy weekend with weddings, conferences, etc. We had the Huntington suite which was spacious and located near the spa. I loved the bath products and they serve starbucks coffee.

The property grounds are lovely and well cared for. The hotel is located across the street from the beach and I was concerned that we would hear the traffic from PCH in our room, you could only hear it on the balcony. The club room located on the 4th floor had a concierge, drinks, snacks, laptops and is available as an upgrade of $50.00 per day. The fees are pricey and many from the $34 valet, resort and city taxes.

The restaurants are average but we were so relaxed and apt to stay on the property than wait through the process of getting our car on such a busy weekend. The spa was wonderful and we enjoyed the couples massage and facility.

We encountered a technical issue with our suite doorbell going off at 3am and maintenance having to enter our room to find it and unplug it. I t wasn't handled well upon check-out but customer service rectified the problem.

Overall, it was a relaxing stay and I look forward to returning in the very near future.
