We searched and searched for a hotel along the Califoria coast. We finally settled on the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa and we were not disappointed. We were there with another couple, both celebrating wedding anniversaries and they treated us like royalty. When we checked in, they announced that we had both been upgraded to their premium suites at no additional charge. The rooms were amazing! One morning we saw dolphins swimming in the ocean from our balcony and although all the hotels in this area are on the East side of the main highway from the beach, we still had excellent views of the ocean. The food was pricey but very good and their breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever seen.

Perhaps the best part of the experience is the overall feel of the resort. They have tiki lamps and beautiful grounds. We spent a couple nights in one of their many outdoor hot tubs and were the only ones there. It was an amazing trip and we'll be back.

We stayed here for 4 nights after coming from the Encore in Vegas. From arriving we felt so comfortable and relaxed - every member of staff was so so friendly, happy and helpful. We had left things in our car and when we asked to get them from the valet, this was not a problem at all. They upgraded our room free of charge to a ocean view room which was lovely. The resort itself is stunningly beautiful - everywhere is spotlessly cleaned and well maintained and has a real relaxed vibe to it - just what we wanted after Vegas! The room was beautiful, spacious and a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean. The bed was super comfortable and very quiet. The 'quiet' pool was lovely and relaxing. We hired bikes from the hotel too, which were great fun. Pete's bar was nice for a relaxing drink. The Red Chair Lounge was lovely for cocktails especially sitting round the fire pit. We ate out so can't comment on the food. The bridge access to the beach was great and only took 10 mins walk to downtown. However we found out on the last day that the hotel operates a free shuttle bus to downtown! Yes the parking is expensive and you have to pay a resort fee (but we thought that perhaps that goes towards staff gratuity) but we didn't mind as the hotel was just so lovely - the photos on their website just don't do it justice. Definately recommend this hotel. They have the friendliest hotel staff ever!

I was here for a conference and found this was a beautiful and very accommodating property. The rooms, beds were very comfortable and clean, just what you'd expect from a 4-5 star hotel. What was amazing was the food service. From the first day, the head server knew my name and went out of her way to make sure I had what I wanted whenever she saw me. The entire services staff, housekeeping included were very friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. The management must be doing something right! Also, the food was far better than expected. We ate many breakfast and lunches and a couple of dinners with the conference in a banquet room and I am usually disappointed by the creativity and freshness of the food, but not here. I actually looked forward to the meals.
You should know that there is no minibar in the rooms, but there is a refrigerator and a well appointed 'market store' on the property. You simply have to go buy your bottle of wine or other drinks there and bring them back to your room.
The other thing that I found commendable is that the Hyatt Conference staff treated our Event Staff like true customers. Every request was met with a smile and quickly granted. I believe that they would say that this is a great place to plan a large conference too.
I must warn you that the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows in the conference rooms facing the beach may be a strong distraction for some.
My only complaint is that the website advertised that yoga mats were provided in the guest rooms and that there would be yoga practice videos on demand in the rooms. I had to call housekeeping to get one sent to my room (which they did promptly) and there was only 1 ten minute 'yoga for sleep' video available. Thankfully, I had my ipad stocked with other great options for the week.
If I had time, I would have stayed on a couple of extra days because the pool and patios were so gorgeous and relaxing and Fashion Island is only 8 miles up the PCH.
I really enjoyed my stay here and would come again.

Room Tip: If you have a lot of things to lug to conference rooms and back, be sure to ask for a room that is c...

OK, this is by far my favorite hotel, and I live about 1/2 a mile from it. I have been there several times, but never actually stayed there until recently. I was really blown away about how nice it is to stay there. Everything about the hotel is comfortable with small touches of total luxury. It doesn't have a 4 Seasons feel to it, but rather a relaxed, comfortable Beachy feel.

Pros
Location- Right across the street from the beach. It sits up from the street, so you can't even tell PCH is there (hear or see).
Service- 5 Star
Rooms- Immaculate and Super comfy.
Pools- Great slide pool for the kids. Also have a larger pool area that isn't as crowded.
SPA- OMG. The massages are pricey, but the whole package makes it the best spa experience. Locker Rooms, Robes, Hot Tub, Sauna, Relax Room, Snacks, Tea, Coffee.... They let you stay there for as long as you want. It is AMAZING. Plus, the Spa Director is really great.
Restaurants- Love the Californian. Great food and they make the best Martinis.

Cons-
Parking- Is very expensive. However, there really isn't any non-metered parking nearby.
Summer Time Crowds- It can get crowded in the slide pool during the summer.
Resort Fee- I absolutely hate this fee at any hotel. Isn't that why we are paying big bucks to be at the resort in the first place?

Tips
- The Spa will comp your day parking if you have a treatment. They even give you pool access, even if you aren't staying at the hotel.
-Go during the off season. You can get this hotel for a really reasonable price after September and before May. I even saw it on hotwire (4 star with children activities) for $139 a night in March.
- You sometimes can pay $10 extra at check in and get upgraded to a ocean view (looking over the pool).
- Restaurant.com offers a Pay $20, Get $50 (If you spend $100-Read the fine print) deal for the Californian. Worth doing if you are going to have cocktails and appetizers.

We were all amazed at how very pampered we all felt including the kids. Absolutely turn-key! The beds are comfortable including the roll-away! The stone work throughout is quite esthetically pleasing. The location is wonderful and proximity to the beach is triple bonus! We marveled at how Clean the resort is! I loved that. While there they were replacing the sod just to make sure they got everything right! The ENTIRE staff, inc the doorman and all around were fantastic to us. My children were treated with respect as they should be and they appreciated that. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

My wife, son and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for our trip to Disney and the beach. The hotel was fabulous and definitely kid friendly. The rooms were just "ok," meaning it was a standard hotel room -but the staff was super friendly and the all the amenities were awesome. We ate some meals on-site (pizza and room service bfast) and the food was great. If I have one complaint it is that they offer surf lessons and provide a contact email for the surf shop. I emailed them a week before my visit and never heard back. I checked in with them when I got there (right on-site -super convenient) and was told they don't ever check their email and were booked for a corporate event. Hotel probably shouldn't put the email -but realistically, the shop should check it!

Room Tip: Beach view isn't spectacular, so don't pay more for it.

We stay at the Hyatt during the US Open which is by far one of the busiest times for the entire town of Huntington. They handled it with ease. The rooms were clean and comfortable and offered all needed amenities, The beds were comfortable and most rooms offered great views outside on their balconies. The did have multiple pools of which were all over run by people and found that our daughter couldnt enjoy it due to lack of seating, but once again a very busy weekend. There are quite niches throughout the property to just relax and enjoy yourself. A very easy walk to the pier and any main action you may be interested in. It would have been nice to have soda machines on each level. But beyond that a great place.
