“Tahoe's best kept secret”

Homewood Mountain Resort
Reviewed July 8, 2018

I am a little bit hesitant to review this ski resort for fear that others may start visiting it. The place has a real family feel and the views are amazing. I don't think there is a run that doesn't have a view. When you are in the chair, don't forget to turn around and take it all in, it is amazing. The lift tickets are a fraction of what you will pay at other resorts in the area. The people are friendly, and you will never wait long in a lift line. Even the food is good. Only issues are that the lifts are slow and its a smaller mountain than the main Tahoe resorts. On the flip side, this keeps Homewood uncrowded.

This isn't the most advanced resort in Tahoe but it sure is the most gorgeous. It was a very nice resort to finish off a long weekend of skiing. There are definitely some difficult runs and if you want to tree ski then this is your place. It has a very mom and pop feel and the prices are great compared to some resorts.

Had a great day skiing ; really enjoyed the mix of greens and blues. Not overly busy for a Sunday.

The but is for the bar at the bottom (above the ski lift ticket kiosk) ; $8 for a beer and $12 for a glass of Chenin Blanc is simply outrageous

If you have young children that have never been on chairlifts before take them on the platter lifts or quail chair because madden and ellis make me nervous with my kids because there is no bar old homewood express has a bar and goes faster to get to destination quicker supposedly they are adding a gondola this summer
