This was a good place to visit but we won't stay overnight again. The RV park felt like a crammed parking lot. It was extremely loud both nights we stayed, very late into the night and early morning. The restaurant and nearby stores are good and nice but we can visit those while still staying elsewhere. For pet owners, the dog areas seemed pretty abysmal. It looked like there were a few nice green areas, but the park was so overcrowded, not sure if it's ever quiet enough to actually enjoy those. It also appears there are some permanent tenants that are allowed to junk up their area.

Casa due Fruita was...is...and perhaps will always be a mainstay stopping point through the California central valley.
From the fresh fruit to the wild peacocks roaming through the grounds for all to enjoy.. If you find yourself close by, do yourselves a favor and enjoy an old fashioned breakfast, take a train ride around the park and get some freshly made fudge before you leave. It just could be a highlight you won't soon forget. Happy travels...

saw a sign for this place and the sign was flashy and inviting so we decided to check it out. we found this place nestled in the hills/mountains on the way to big sur on the coast. its right off the highway you can't miss it.
was very surprised at the size of this place. was not expecting so much. they had a number of buildings and odds n ends things to check out. i remember seeing a restaurant and a big carousel among other things but we just checked out the wine building and the fruit building. the fruit building had a wide variety of fruits, nuts, candies, etc, to choose from. either pre-packaged or bulk. LOTS of dried fruits which made me giddy :). I love dried fruits.
We were able to taste test a couple of wines which ended up being pretty good. they had a number of wines that were buy one get one free. one of the ones we purchased was.
if you aren't into stopping to buy anything i recommend stopping just to check it out. its a nice place to check out and hang out at for a bit. it was a bit of a drive from fresno to the coast so it was nice to be able to stop and relax for a bit.

Stopped in while traveling expecting to find a large selection of fresh, local fruit. Was disappointed in the lack of freshness and the prices were outrageous. However, if you are looking for a good "make-your-own" sandwich or burrito and enjoy a nice FREE wine tasting, stop into Casa De Wine. They will let you sample any of the wines they have available. The sandwiches and burritos were less then $6 for a drink and chips added in. My husband got a kick out of feeding the birds outside the building straight from his hand.

Casa de Fruta has a lot to offer and is a fun place for the kids, however, the prices are out of the universe. They have a wide selection of things but it is a big tourist trap, case in point, Salt Water Taffy is $9.00+ a pound to provide one example. Take a stroll and check out the scenery, just buy your fruit at the small fruit vendors coming east as their prices are far better.
