We have stayed at this hotel many times. Love the location, right on the beach, nice rooms. I always pay the extra money ($500 a night) to get the beachfront room. This last trip we arrived at 1 PM & were advised the room was not ready, but they would call us. No problem. 4 pm rolls around & no call. I go to the front desk & they act "annoyed" to check us in. I booked ages ago & requested a higher floor to be away from the boardwalk noise. They put us in a 2nd floor room that literally faced the public toilet. It was a recessed room, so we could not see down the boardwalk at all. And the other side was a dog park where local homeless gathered. I called down & was told they were booked for the weekend, we couldn't be moved. Mind you- we checked in at 4pm on Friday. There was no way every other beachfront room was checked in. The view was NOT a $500 a night view. The girl up front told me the manager "Jasmine" would call me. We stayed 2 nights and no one EVER called, nothing.
We had horrible nights sleep because of fights in the dog park all night. The walkway leading to street and the extra foot traffic was extremely loud- not to mention our room was above the dining area and at 6 AM on, there dishes clanking and people talking/eating making noise that sounded like it was in our room.
Again, the girls at the front desk were rude and had horrendous customer service. If you tell someone a manager will contact them, it should happen.
No care or consideration for returning customers. Again, for $500 a night, I don't want to look at public toilets.
The valet staff were amazing and super helpful. They are the only reason I will give this place 2 stars.
Whatever you do, make sure you don't end up in room 218. Not worth $500. So sad , this had been our favorite place to stay in our frequent trips to So Cal. Not anymore.
