“Loud, busy, great”
Reviewed January 23, 2011

Ate there with my local family who are regulars at Martha's. It was loud & busy with some really tasty food. The blue berry scones were delicious as was the ABC omelet with chorizo.

Out door seating made it very dog friendly. Open daily at 7AM.

Noise was not a deterrent as we had rambunctious grandchildren that blended right in.

“Best stuffed French fried bread ever.”
Reviewed December 3, 2010

Martha's Corner overlooks the beach in Hermosa Beach. Kids love the place. The French bread stuffed with berries and cream cheese to fabulous. My daughter likes the goat cheese dishes.

“Run to Martha's for fabulous breakfast and lunch”

We go here every time we visit family in Hermosa. The stuffed french toast is fabulous, wonderful egg dishes. Sit outside and look toward the ocean!

“Good things come to those who wait”
Reviewed July 5, 2009

It's easy to spot Martha's while you're tooling down Hermosa Avenue on a sunny weekend morning: just look for the crowd. Yes, there will be a wait-- but hey, it's the beach. Waiting doesn't have to be a negative thing and the beach, after all, is all about relaxation. So, leave the wristwatch at home, lock the cell phone in the car and tune into the sound of the surf and the voice(s) of your companion(s).

Have I given you the impression this is the place to come for a leisurely and intimate little breakfast by the beach? If so, I've led you astray. Whether eating indoors or out, Martha's is a bustling, noisy and generally crowded place with little by way of atmosphere and a pretty nondescript décor. What it does have is a great menu and a kitchen which executes things well.

The food at Martha's sort of reminds me of the late sixties in California (I've just dated myself, so okay) when every place was ferny, ingredients were fresh, and sprouts and avocado were king and queen. Martha's can serve you lovely fresh fruit at breakfast, terrific oatmeal, pancakes, and all manner of variations on eggs which are both imaginative and more healthful than the usual grease-and-griddle fare. I have a fondness for poached eggs, for example, and these folks are people who understand the process of egg poaching. I ordered one of their numerous variations on eggs benedict--Eggs Hermosa-- which included two of my favorite things, spinach and a garlic-spiked tomato-- along with the usual Benedict ingredients. It was wonderful. Granted, there was a minor mixup with our orders, but the kitchen handled the issues efficiently-- and one taste of what was on my plate made me forget all but the wonderful flavors dancing on my taste buds.
