“Can't beat homemade pasta!”
Reviewed September 17, 2008

I discovered this place one day whil my wife & I were hunting for a "new" place to eat. Tired of all the chain food fastaurants, Dattillo's offers a small towns version of an Italian Ristorante. Maria's homemade pasta is light and flavorful and their pizza sauce is excellent. I personally prefer the Pesto with the Large Shrimp. The people who work there are out of a movie. Weekend nights are the best because all the nice old folks from Hemet go there to have their little date nights and my wife & I really enjoy their company. There is nothing better than a good pasta, a good bottle of red wine, great service, and tables filled with 70-80++ year old couples holding hands while listening to Frank Sinatra.

I recommend this place to family and friends.

“This is the best Italian...”
Reviewed September 2, 2008

This is the best Italian anywhere. The ravioli is made fresh to order by the owner. If you are ever in the vicinity of Hemet, check this place out - you won't regret it.

“Good eating and friendly atmosphere”
Reviewed July 11, 2008

I dont know what Dale in Hemet is talking about, but their food is really good. Let's be honest people, Hemet has a small amount of quality dining establishments and this place is a huge step-up for the area. I lived in NY for several yrs and find this to be the only place around here that serves good Italian food. Funny thing is that I wasnt a full fan of Italian for many years (as the significant other is Sicilian and from the East Coast; she wont go to any other Italian restaurants, to include generic Olive Garden, in the Riverside area), but they make their pasta fresh and dont hold back on the flavor. My sons were even allowed to see the way they make it all and help a little. Great place to dine in or out and friendly/family feel to the entire place. Notice all of the positive experiences, it's one of the best places in town.

“Not bad but overrated in these reviews”
Reviewed April 30, 2008

The restaurant is a sight to behold from the false white columns with matching white Rolls Royce out front to the kitsch handpainted frescoes on the dining room walls. Spotlessly clean. The food is average, though I only sampled a watery bowl of Stracciatella soup and the linguine alle vongole. Of the latter there are two on the menu and was explained that one "whole clams" used large clams while the other (which I ate) used chopped clams. The white wine sauce was unexpectedly sweet while the "linguine" seemed more like angel hair pasta.

Most diners seemed to be celebrating something.

“Great Food, A Little Cold Inside”
Reviewed April 10, 2008

I've lived in the Hemet/SanJac valley since 1991, and I came from the food capitol of the world.....New York.

You can't fake being or cooking Italian to me. Datillo's comes about the closet to real Italian from the East Coast.

The food is the biggest part and they do it pretty good even since Bill left as chef a few years ago.

This is possibly only one of two places to eat in Hemet that are worth trying.

Buttons was good...it's closed.
Joe's #2 is gone...maybe even #1is gone by now.
Taste Of Europe was extremely good...it's closed.
The Anchor is gone...now Mexican and not very good.
Dukes is holding it's own with an old menu..but it's good quality and superbly well done...and this is my second choice.

Thankfully Datillo's is still around for those who like fine food.

One small problem: The dining room is cold...too much tile and statuary etc keeps the temps a little too cold for my wife.

Large and well-stocked wines and the service is superb....Just look for the white Rolls Royce in the driveway. .
