“The Dry Creek Inn was great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2010

We were very pleased with our stay at the Dry Creek Inn. The new Tuscan room was very nice, clean, good bed and extremely quiet. We also liked that it was centrally located for all the places we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay there again.

While our stay was short at the Inn since we only had 1 day in Healdsburg, it was a very pleasant stay. We had to be somewhat cost conscious with our accommodations but had wanted a nice place to stay that was conveniently located in central Sonoma area. Because we had only a short time to spend in the area, it worked out very well for us to spend the afternoon and evening on the square since it was just a short distance from the hotel. I would absolutely stay at the Dry Creek Inn on a future visit and would recommend to others. The staff was extremely friendly upon check-in as well

We stayed Aug. 1 & 2 and it was our base for wine tasting in Healdsburg and surrounding areas. The hotel had finished renovations/construction of the new wing since the last time we had stayed with them and they had really transformed the hotel with a lovely Tuscan style villa facade and warm colors inside and out. The new pool area was really nice, especially the hot tub. The rooms had also been updated with big tv's, small fridge, and a shower that worked even for tall folks (still a rarity). Cleanliness was obvious when we walked into the room and the cleaning staff did a great job of tidying up on the second day. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope the management see fit to keep the room rates as budget-friendly in the future.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and a wine tasting trip. The staff at the BW could not have been more accommodating. The rooms were wonderful, very clean with all the amenities. Even though the Inn is right off the freeway, once inside, you felt as if you were at a villa in Tuscany. Given the access to the highway, it is conveniently located to explore the surrounding areas.
We will remember this anniversary for many reasons and our stay at the Dry Creek Inn will be one of them.

The pleasant: Wine country décor to set the vacation mood, comfortable bed with many layers of fluff, dim light option over the jetted tub, 2 white robes hanging in closet, calming gas fireplace, flat screen TV with music option and speaker near the tub, semi-private balcony with café table and 2 chairs (great place to enjoy a bottle of vino). Also good; the 2 outdoor pools and 1.5 hot tubs, the additional hot tub in center of the Tuscan section, 2 luggage racks in room, small refrigerator, safe, the long mirror in hallway with a light, the swing out make-up/shaving mirror on the double vanity, and the 2 pocket doors (unique). Grounds were well-kept and clean.

Could have been better: Dry sauna was broken for the 3 days we were there (on/off knob didn’t turn) (didn’t mention this to front desk as the steam room worked), steam room worked for 2 of 3 days however BW should turn the max temp to 120 degrees (warning; there is no ventilation grate and it doesn’t cycle on and off like it should, it blows steam at your feet constantly), also no hooks to hang towels near the steam room. Towels in room, while plentiful, were very old; some white, some off-white, washcloth had make-up stain. Grout in shower was brown and I used my flip-flops just in case. No cookies in lobby when we checked in or when we checked out (not a big deal, but it looked tacky to see empty cookie trays). The breakfast in the morning was terrible; packaged muffins, rubbery hard-boiled eggs, and only white bread choices. A voucher for the restaurant next door would have been a nice touch.

Overall, I can see staying here if you are attending an event in the area or if you need a place for relatives to stay for your wedding that won’t wipe out the budget.

I usually don't stay at Best Westerns. Call me a snob, I guess. But we also never reserve in advance and so sometimes at the last minute can't get a room in popular places. It's rate, but it happens.

This year, it happened in Healdsburg, where a lot of the places are B&b's and small inns. The only place available for the weekend at last minute was the Dry Creek Inn. And I'm glad it was.

A lot of thought had gone into the details of design - it wasn't just some slapped together motel/inn. The owners clearly wanted to create a special place. The room was absolutely beautiful, very light and airy and comfortable, with this shuttered wall between the bathroom and main room that gave the place an open feel. The room also had a terrace, a fireplace, a huge bath, all brand new. And then downstairs in the courtyard, there is a t wonderful hot tub and a steam room too! We stayed three days and even by bike, we were only a minute from main street in downtown. the Dry Creek in was quiet, private -- really we were very happy to be there.

I

I was there to compete in the annual Vineman Triathlon with friends and family. This was our first time to the area and definetely not our last. Healdsburg is a beautiful little city with great character along with the surrounding areas. We found that the Day Creek Inn was centrally located for our needs and suited us nicely. The rooms were clean as was the entire property and the staff was extremely helpful. When we have the opportunity to visit Sonoma County again, your property will be our lodging of choice
