We got a nice weekday holiday package deal for a second floor Carriage House Queen with Balcony 504 for our wedding anniversary night out of town. Nice specials are available in the fall, winter and early spring. A weekday evening and morning in the early spring sure can sure be peaceful here. It was May and we thought it was perfectly comfortable with windows open all day & night. $264 covered one night, breakfast and a Chef's choice three course dinner for two. Normal price for the room, without an included dinner, is much more.
The staff seemed just fine but we didn't ask much if anything. We were too happy to relax and to just play hookie instead of having to go to work. We're already familiar with the Healdsburg area and tried zinfandels at Ridge's tasting room down the road after checking out. Ridge and Rosenblum are our favorite zins. Ravenswood is a distant third.
On checking in mid-afternoon, there was a complimentary bottle of champagne with fresh chocolate chip cookies in the room. We enjoyed it on the balcony.
We liked the room quite a bit. A few photos are attached. Pardon the messy appearance of the bed, we tried to put it back together ourselves in the morning because the photoshoot was an after-thought. The staff does a far better job at making beds... A couple of the other photos need to be rotated for a better look... Sorry. No photo of the chocolate chip cookies. We finished those off way before the camera came out.
We've had dinner here before and thoroughly enjoyed yet another fine dinner. This was our first night at the property though.
As others mentioned, breakfast is nice. We had a late breakfast. Again, this was a spring weekday late morning and we had the breakfast room almost to ourselves. We didn't feel rushed at all. In fact, we took our leisurely time of at least an hour or two. I vaguely remember the toaster not working. No big deal.
