“Warm and welcoming B&B”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

We stayed at Haydon Street for a weekend after visiting the redwoods. What a wonderful find. First, John and Keren are professional and caring innkeepers. We had no idea we were booking at the time of the Passport wine event (lots of wineries all weekend). We were the only couple at the inn that weekend NOT doing Passport, but we sure didn't feel neglected. In fact, John and Keren invited our friends (who had to stay at another inn) to join us at John's pizza party one evening! He actually made a brick pizza oven in the back yard and made some scrumptious pizzas for his guests. John is an excellent chef (from Churchill Downs, no less). Because restaurants were especially crowded, John invited the four of us to bring our picnic dinner back to the inn. We enjoyed our Oakville spread in their gorgeous patio. The inn is spotless and the decor is fantastic. I LOVED the wrap-around front porch and spent both nights outside reading. Our room had a private bathroom across the hall and I never saw anyone while going over to it. It was very large (which was nice, as the room was a little on the small side as is typical of older inns). Both John and Keren offered suggestions of things to do (especially as we didn't want to go to wineries with all the crowds). The location of the inn is great...walking distance to the nice downtown Healdsburg area. I would recommend this inn to anyone except someone with mobility issues (don't think there were any rooms downstairs). We especially appreciated John and Keren including our friends, who couldn't get a room at Haydon and stayed a few blocks away. A wonderful weekend and wonderful inn! Oh, and one more thing--this inn is an exceptional value given the pricey nature of the area. We just loved our stay.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the room with the bathroom across the hall...it's large and very private...

Wine Country Bikes booked us in this charming Victorian B&B just a few blocks from the Healdsburg town square and are we ever delighted they did! The inn has a wrap around veranda and is appointed with period antiques throughout. Our king bed was incredibly comfortable and our bathroom included a jacuzzi tub. Innkeepers John and Karen are wonderful hosts eager to provide tips on restaurants, biking routes, wineries and more. John is a gourmet chef and his breakfasts are out of this world, as are the wood-fired pizzas he grills on the patio during the complimentary evening wine hour. Breakfasts and happy hour are a fun way to relax and chat with other guests. Haydon the cat is also an excellent host; I suspect he may have a little dog in his genealogy as I have never met such a friendly cat. I wish he could give my cat some lessons in affection-giving. And I do not understand other reviewers comments about his drooling; never saw him drool. (if you're not a cat- lover don't worry; Haydon is strictly an outdoor cat.) Thank you John and Karen for a wonderful stay! We'l be back!

My wife and I did a little getaway for our anniversary and it couldn't have been better. John's food is excellent (although I am not a fan of berries on my waffles) and Keren was a lovely hostess. She gave us guidance for wineries and restaurants in the area, as well as a map that was very helpful. Unfortunately due to our dialy adventures to the wineries, we missed the pizzas on Saturday night but the other guests said they were great! Overall I couldn't have been happier with the Haydon Street Inn for a getaway weekend!

This B&B could not be better. It is located just a few blocks away from the lovely Healdsburg plaza which has some wonderful restaurants. It was also just our luck that it was right around the corner from Wine Country Bikes where we were rented some great performance bicycles. The inn was well appointed with period decor. The inn has a nice spacious sitting area on the first floor. We stayed in the Garden Room which overlooked the backyard. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a nice, modern shower stall. The added touch was the luxurious robes that were in the room for use during our stay. John and Keren are wonderful hosts. The breakfast each morning was extraordinary and certainly the best we have had at a B&B. If you are planning a visit to Sonoma wine country we would definitely recommend Healdsburg as your base as the town has the most charm of any town in the area and it is centrally located to the area's highlights (three different wine regions; redwoods state park and even the ocean) and Haydon Street Inn is the perfect B&B for your stay.

The B&B was lovely. We stayed in the detached part of the B&B and found our room to be clean and well-kept. The food was the highlight of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the daily happy hour with light snacks and wines from the area...and the breakfasts were amazing...some of the best breakfasts we've had while staying in B&Bs. The B&B was within walking distance to town, although the walk was 5-10 minutes, so it's not immediately in town. The location is in good proximity to many wonderful vineyards (Ridge was our favorite)!

This B&B is a couple of blocks away from the center square in Healdsburg. Wonderful local shops/restaurants and close to Alexander Valley, Napa Valley, Russian River area and coast. The accomodations are very nice and comfortable. John's breakfast is fabulous and he is very congenial. Karen's wine and cheese evening is relaxing, she is more business. Haydon, the cat, loves attention and drools a lot. Overall, very nice stay with a variety of rooms to select from. Thought pricing was a bit high.
