Best day ever! It takes longer than you would think, we thought it would only be a few hours, but it took half the day...We loved every minute!

“Beautiful and relaxing!”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

The husband and I traveled from Washington State. We had been traveling south for 5 days and decided to slow down on our last day in California before heading home. We had never done anything like this before. It was a wonderful experience. It was quiet and beautiful. Lots of birds, fish, and turtles to see along the way.. We did the all day trip and it took us about 5 hours to complete once on the river. It took my husband and I a little to figure out the canoe and how to keep the canoe straight. But it was a fun day on the river and I would deffiently do it again.

“A relaxing paddle on a lovely river”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

This company is great - the staff are knowledgable, helpful and friendly. We loved rowing in an inflatable canoe (it's a lot harder to capsize than metal ones), and we loved this part of the river (very beautiful, calmer and less populated than other parts). We did the 1/2-day adventure and it was perfect for what we wanted - to chill out, get a little exercise, and be in a beautiful place. Will definitely return and bring the kids next time.

“Great customer service with SOAR.”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

A group of us floated the Russian River in inflatable kayaks with SOAR. Very personable, low key, great value. I would recommend this company for anyone who has the confidence for a self tour.

“Lots of Fun SomewhereOnARiver”
Reviewed September 22, 2011

My husband and I considered various outfitters in the area and are glad that we chose Russian River Adventures. Owner, Larry, made our day trip even more enjoyable by recognizing that we were two old hippie canoeists who would be happier with canoe paddles rather than the standard-issue kayak paddles. We thought the orientation was complete and well-represented what to expect on the river. We had a great mid-week day, free of crowds and full of bird life, turtles and fish. On the spendid September day, it was a pleasure to take our time, lazily floating along, stopping to observe wildlife, savor our picnic goodies from the Oakville Grocery, and go swimming. We even amused ourselves further by setting up a self-timer photo-op that involved clamping a (waterproof) camera to a mid-stream snag, backing off, then paddling upstream. It was a warm day, so taking a refreshing dip provided just enough energy to paddle the last hour out. We spoke to folks who didn’t take the time to swim and they felt the last stretch was tiring. Just pace yourself and keep your day leisurely. This is a pleasureable paddle, not a race or endurance test. We were only sorry our dog was home on the East Coast; he would have enjoyed the ride (and swim) too.
