This is my favorite winery. I grew up in Santa Rosa and it took moving away to really appreciate wine country. Every time I visit "home" we make a special trip to Bella. It's a smaller winery (compared to the jumbo tacky ones) and quaint. They have a great wine club that ships wine to me for a discount (in the midwest) and this also give you free tasting and access to events (some free). The setting is lovely - don't forget to bring a picnic lunch - it'd be a perfect 1/2 way stop while tasting.

FYI - the road getting there is quite small and bumpy.

This place is out of the way but worth the drive! Use one of their blankets and picnic on the lawn.

A hidden gem of a winery off the beaten track. There are two Dry Creek Roads, the regular one (that heads out to Ferrari-Carano vineyard), and West Dry Creek Road. The west road has some superior hidden gems of wineries. You just need a good map to find them.

Bella is up in the hill along the western portion of West Drycreek Road. Come across the Lambert Bridge, turn right, and to about 2.5 miles. Turn left, up the hill, and you are there.

The tasting room is in one of their more modern caves (not dug by the Chinese after the transcontinental railroad). It is spacious and vey nice and cool for wine tasting. They have their wine shop and tasting area in the cave. You walk back to the tasting area, and take your place.

Very friendly pouring staff. Lot's of knowledge about the grape and wine. I was floored at the high quality of the wine. Of course, they are in Dry Creek Valley, the king of zin. No exception here. Several types of zinfandel were simply rocking my companion and I. Great, rich, complex. nice nose, and the long lasting tasty finish.

Great place, great people and great wine. Make it a stop along your Dry Creek area exploration. You'll be glad you did!

Upon arriving at this scenic vineyard we first noticed a large hill covered in grapevines and rolling vine covered countryside adjacent to it. There is a cellar door at the base of the hill which is the entryway to the tasting room. What a great place to taste!
The most notable part of the experience is of course the wine. WOW!!
The zin is a must taste.
The staff is friendly and the experience is very unique.
