Over my three days in wine country, Lambert Bridge was my favorite winery we visited! It is an adorable place, has fantastic cheese and wine, and the people who work there are wonderful. We had a reservation for a wine and cheese tasting. There were a wide variety of wines and cheeses. Our host was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. The only catch is, they only sell the majority of their wines to members. Lucky for us, the couple we were with joined their wine club and their perks extended to us too! Our tastings were comp’d and we were able to buy any wine we wanted! I would definitely go back if I were in Sonoma again!

After several wine tours in France and many more in Italy I was very excited for our first wine tour in California (third for my husband). One of our stops in Sonoma was Lambert Bridge, because of outstanding reviews, but what a disappointment. It did not live up to any of them.
The wines: They were good, but not more than regularly good. Each type of wine had a very clean taste and was on point for what they should be, but it was hard to find that artisanal and hand crafted touch that they talked so much about. Perhaps they would appear with aging, we only tried very young wines as part of the tasting.
Our guide: She talked a lot, even more, and then a bit more. Which would be fine - and probably very interesting had it been about the grapes, wines, production, aging etc. But it was mostly about the club membership - which was completely irrelevant to us as we are living in Europe and they don’t ship outside the US. In the end, we had to discretely let her know, that we would like some time alone to actually taste the wine. She meant well, but it was a bit odd to have someone talk about almost everything else than wine, when it in fact was wine we came with an interest for.
The price: The price for a tasting is very steep (40$ per person (!!) ) in particular considering that you get nothing else for you money (not even a refill of your water glass) and that you can’t even buy the wine you are tasting. I would go to one of the many other excellent wineries around.

We had visited Lambert Bridge once before for a very informal tasting- this time we had a barrel room tasting. To say that we were spoiled was an understatement. We knew their wine was already amazing but the way we were treated was spectacular- from the smallest detail of having our names printed on the tasting menu to trying probably over 10 different wines- many of them were library wines or something that wasn't being sold yet plus the cheese plate- well worth the money. Our wine guide was Harrison and he had a great understanding of each wine and gave us plenty of time to chat with him and gave time for my husband and I to have enough time to ourselves. This is my 4th time to the Sonoma/Napa region and I have never been treated this well. One word- go!!

We had friends recommend this winery, on the map it looks like it has an open wine tasting, but it’s actually by appt. only. We walked in and still had opportunity to taste, glad we did, had a great time and bought some wine!
