Description: Located in Sonoma County, you might wonder how a brewery in the heart of California"s wine country could make such distinctively flavorful beers. With awards too plentiful to list, the Bear's creations are too good to miss. Founded in 1995, the Norgrove family and Bear Republic Brewing Company strive to foster a sense of loyalty and tradition from eras gone by. From the humble beginnings of home brewing, to the demanding process of commercial brewing, came the realization that to produce the distinctive flavors and aroma we found appealing required the founding of our own Brewery and Brewpub. The Norgrove Family invites you to come by for good, healthy food and our award winning ales and lagers. Located on the corner of Healdsburg's historic downtown square, our family environment guarantees a good time for all!

After a long wine tasting day, the burgers were large, juicy and very well prepared. We tried the jalopeno burgers two were spicy one was not. The garlic fries were very generous and tasty. The prices were very reasonable. The best burger in town.

The beer is good to great depending on your taste (I really enjoyed the stout). While on a 6 hour wine tasting adventure our group of 8 called hours in advance (and even though they don't take reservations they would be prepared and able to accommodate us at 7 pm). The place was packed and after we were finally asked around 8 pm if we would be ok sitting in the half empty outdoor space nicely warmed with patio heaters. We gladly took this space and being from MN we enjoyed the 50-60 degree evening outdoors. We did wonder why they promised us a spot at 7 for a group of 8 when they apparently don't take reservations, especially on a barrel tasting weekend? We could have found a place that guaranteed reservations and wouldn't have wasted an hour of our time on vacation standing around! Our server Alex was great. The food itself was your average bar food with decent burgers (the black and blue was above average) and not much else to speak highly of (the fish and chips were mostly tasteless without malt vinegar), none of the group highly spoke of their various meals. Again the beers are very good! If beer wasn't on my mind I would hesitate to eat here again.

After wines tasting for 3 hours, we turned for food. This is one of the few places open after 2:00 for lunch as many close at 2:00 to change out and prepare for dinner later. Very juicy burgers, generous portions of salads and french fries were yummy. desserts looked good but was too full to partake. Decent selection of beer. wait staff was busy, since it was a rainy 3-day weekend, maybe they were understaffed. would recommend and return again

Our beers were ok, had to ask the server for a water three times. We ordered the mega garlic which would have been fine if the bread hadn't been stale... The waitress asked us if we realized it was toasted... Toasted can still be stale lady. Needless to say we won't be eating here again.

I always love a great hamburger or fishy fry. This place has both. Waiter was very friendly and the ones that had their beer, said it was good. Would absolutely go back.
