Owner description: The Hawkes Family has been growing grapes in the Alexander Valley for forty years. Today, the Hawkes family farms over eighty-five acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay vineyards in the southern half of Alexander Valley, all planted on sparsely-soiled hillsides, all yielding small amounts of intense fruit. In bottling small lots of Hawkes Wine, we aim to translate our extraordinary standards for the quality of our grapes into extraordinary wine, estate grown and produced in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County. You'll know if you've had our wines. We're here drinking wine every day, come join us!

“For the love of wine, go here”

Of all of our Alexander Valley stops, we enjoyed Hawkes immensely. The tasting room manager was the most knowledgable and engaged, and of course it helps that the wine was exceptional. Small production, great care, and depth of talent mark Hawkes. My husband and I joined the wine club, because it was that good!

“great staff and even better wines”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

We went to Hawkes because a friend of ours had left another winery and we found out that she went to work for Hawkes. We made an appointment and went. To see Mandy again was special, but the single vineyard cabs were to die for. The quality of the wines were exceptional. Not being big cab drinkers, we were amazed with these wines. Our wine cellars consist of several hundred bottles and several bottles of cab. Since visiting Hawkes, our cab collection has increased quite a bit. Thanks Mandy and Jake for a wonderful time.

We really liked the Cabernet Sauvignon and the people are friendly and not snooty like other wineries in Napa.

“Yummy yummy wine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

We visited several wineries over the weekend and this one had some of the most incredible wines I've ever had. We loved every wine! The Chardonnay was so buttery and ALL the cabs were delicious. The hostess was fun and accommodating. There isn't a vineyard to look at but it's right next to Jim town which is also yummy!

“Great stop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

I had an incredibly enjoyable stop at the Sonoma tasting room. The woman that helped me was so friendly and welcoming. The chardonnay is delicious and I wish I could have bought a case! I am hoping to be able to return for one of the winemaker's dinner in the future! Thanks so much for making my day!
