“Good, not great, atmosphere poor”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

If visiting Healdsburg I would not recommend this as a place to eat for Mexican food. Across the street is a small market with a dining area in the back tucked away behind boxes piled high... THIS is where I'd go for take out and then sit in the park. (It would help to know a little spanish before walking in, as the deli and staff tend to know very little English). Very friendly = prices good, but they are not on TripAdvisor at this time. You can pick up grocery items at the same time. As for El Tao Grande, it very plain and the food was definitely average - We typically order burritos so the comparisons with a few Mexican restaurants in town are easy to make.

“Taco Grande -yes, they were!”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

We had a large family group visiting my Healdsburg relatives earlier this month (December 2013) and all the Australian visitors wanted a Mexican meal.

So we headed to the family go-to spot, Taco Grande.

Whether burritos, burrito loco, fajitas, or my order of 2 single shrimp tacos and a tamale (no rice, beans) everyone enjoyed their meal. The chips were excellent and the salsa was extra good!

My Healdsburg family usually just gets take-out, so this was my first "dining-in" visit to Taco Grande.

It was grande!

“Mediocre food, very expensive for what you get. Don't recomend.”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Got three grilled chicken tacos, three grilled areak tacos, two sides if beans and two cokes. $35 before tip. The food was stereotypical Mexican street food quality at best, tastes like everything was pre-prepared and just sitting in Ian's in the kitchen.

Not sure if I had an off experience or what because other reviews are good, but I won't go back. There's got to be better Mexican in town.

“Just like Tia Linda's home cooking...”

Fresh grilled chicken and vegetables on top of my salad is one of my favorites. Enchiladas are very tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive. Informal booths, tables and chairs and the place is always busy. No wonder! Food is always good.
