After a day of tasting and touring the Wine Country, we ended up here, somewhat off the beaten path outside Healdsburg. It was just about 30 minutes until closing and there were only one or two couples there besides us. We paid our tasting fee and the wine pourer directed us to sit outside on the patio, with umbrella tables and benches that overlooked the beautiful vineyards. The pourer was very friendly and informative, able to spend time with us since there was no one else for her to attend to. She gave us glasses and each time the glass was empty, she reappeared with a new wine to taste. I think we were only supposed to try 3 wines but she said that since they were about to close, we could try some other wines--either we drank it or she had to pour it out. We tasted some really exceptional wines, including a chardonnay that retails for over $100/bottle. By far the best chardonnay we've ever had. It was so relaxing so sit out there and enjoy the views, while having our glasses filled with some fine wines. For us, this kind of tasting is preferable to the belly up to the bar/speed tasting you get in so many other places. More personal and just a fine way to end your day.
