This is a really fun place to come for a gourmet "take out" lunch or to pick up up fixings for a great wine country picnic. Pretty expensive place, but has a wonderful deli and array of speciality foods--very fun to browse and the outdoor seating area is very nice for lunch on the square!

It is a quaint market, with high quality meats and cheeses, but they are overpriced even for the Napa area.

We had a little time to kill before dinner, so we walked over to Oakville Grocery and grabbed a couple of glasses of wine and relaxed on the patio. I went back in for a second and also explored the place a bit. They had a lot of nice selections of deli & gourmet items, but I opted for a simple “brown butter chocolate chip cookie”. Okay, so the wine (sav blanc) and cookie were not cheap ($10+), but oh my, it was THE best cookie I ever ate. Plus, the gentleman helping me at the counter was super engaging, and we had a nice conversation that end with me walking back to the patio laughing and clutching my wine and cookie. What could be better?

This is located right on Rte 29 in Oakville and is the oldest continuously operating grocery store in California. Offer a very nice mix of gourmet and organic foods, sandwiches and salads, but it is a bit pricey-sandwiches were $12 and large bottle of water was $4. But since there are no food options along the Silverado Trail, this is a good lunch option while you take a break from exploring local vineyards.

If you are in the area - this is a must do! Get a bagged lunch to go and head to the nearest vineyard for a bottle of wine and lunch on the lawn. We just loved the menu and selection of "fancy" picnic supplies. There are places to eat right on the road, but we would suggest exploring a bit more! Enjoy!
