Description: Spoonbar Chef Louis Maldonado serves a menu of clean and simple dishes honoring America’s diverse culinary influences. His artfully-crafted, market-driven cuisine of fresh, bold flavors is built around seasonally-inspired local and sustainable ingredients. The same focus carries over to Spoonbar’s cocktails which use specially sourced organically-grown herbs, fruits and vegetables with an emphasis on locally and domestically produced spirits. Freeform tables made from reclaimed acacia surround a long, communal table crafted from a split tree. Splashes of color—from the turquoise Eames chairs to the golden floral three dimensional wall art—brighten the open space like dappled sunshine filtering through summer leaves. On warm days and evenings the restaurant’s Cantina doors open up to sidewalk dining.

When we first entered this place I thought it might be a bit contemporary for my taste. We arrived at 6:00 with no reservations. Big mistake I guess. We were told we could sit in the lounge area and eat (which is really low tables and even lower couches) or we could sit at the bar. We chose the bar. The chairs were rather uncomfortable but it was a spot to sit and eat. The service was great (thanks JT and Nathan). They made fun drinks for us and pointed out favorite items on the menu. The corn app was great, fresh and full of flavor. I got the short ribs which were paired with quinoa and red pepper it was full of flavor. The barley and crab dish was by far the best out of the three dishes. Creamy and rich with lots of crab. The chicken dish however was not good. The initial presentation is pretty but the chicken consistency is not good. Almost like it was undercooked. We sent that back. The servers were very apologetic and took it off our bill. We ended the meal with the sticky toffee and pane cotta ! Delish!

Oh yessss. This is very enjoyable for the bar area and I can not comment specifically on food. Great environs. Large glass/wood doors open for outdoor breezes and the space is large and inviting. I recommend if you have finished dinner and want a nice environment with a friend or a few to relax and enjoy an evening. It's at the south end of town - next to the Fan Store and the Chamber of Commerce - very convenient ! Parking can be difficult as the lots are a bit of a distance. There is one across the street, but I don't know if it's for hotel guests above - ask ! We walk there.

Stopped by Spoonbar! for a late night drink and appetizer. The restaurant itself is quite nice. We chose to take seats at the bar, enjoy a drink and share an appetizer. Great service.
