This place was perfect. Amazing beds and linens...lovely hospitality from Chris and her husband. The things they don't tell you: there are two lovely horses in a small stable in the front yard, a little grove adjacent to the property amazing cacti bearing fruit and the people who are your breakfast-mates are super interesting! I was there for a wedding and met a zoologist who is a dog training expert, a PhD who works for the federal government to plan for biodiversification of plant life when global warming hits full throttle, a landscape architect who builds parks, a man who does custom metal work on the interior of private jets and a a wine importer.

Room Tip: Suggest room on upper floors not adjacent to the front door.

My husband found this lovely Inn just browsing the internet for a short night away for our 10 year Anniversary. In a sea of B&B's in the Healdsburg area, this was the most inexpensive, and charming of them all! Chris is a lovely host! She greeted us, made our dinner reservations, and even had a glass of Champagne sent to our table when we arrived! We stayed in the lovely "Michael's Room", the bed was elegant and comfortable, the bathroom very spacious and clean, and the vineyard view amazing! We enjoyed seeing the lovely horses, chickens, and Virginia the cat. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast of french toast, fruit, and sausages, and of course coffee! It was lovely chatting with Chris, and the other guests! We will definitely be recommending Irish Rose Inn to everyone we know, and we hope to be back again soon! Amy and Anthony Tannehill

My wife and I spent 3 days enjoying California wine country and the hospitality fo the Irish Rose Inn. Now -- let me set your expectations. If you are looking for a fancy hotel type experience, then keep on looking. This is just like going to visit Grandma only in the middle of wine country. Chris and Lenny are excellent hosts, the place is clean and relaxing, and perfectly located to enjoy wine country. The breakfasts are delicious, and we spent one evening just sitting on the front porch reading, drinking a bottle of wine we had bought earlier in the day, enjoying the cool evening. I recommend it as a good value and quaint place to stay.

We were up in Healdsburg for a friend's wedding and decided not to stay at an overpriced motel. Instead, we chose to stay at the Irish Rose and enjoy the charm of a B&B. The Irish Rose is a beautiful place. It's location is perfect as it right on Dry Creek Road where many wineries are located. We literally walked to wineries from the B&B! It's also a short (and beautiful) drive to downtown.

The B&B is a beautiful, old timey house with air conditioning in the rooms (important for the hot summer days). We had one of the rooms upstairs and had our own bathroom. Breakfast was delicious too!

I definitely recommend this place and will plan to stay here next time we find ourselves in Healdsburg.

Trvlr888's review written 18 months ago paints an accurate picture of the Irish Rose experience. Chris and Lenny provide an economical alternative to a 5 star bed and breakfast. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:30am and consisted of eggs and bacon, French toast and a casserole. Chris made certain that there were gluten free options for us. Conversations were interesting and informative. We did not receive over-the-top service, but, all of our stated needs were met. If we had asked for afternoon wine and cheese, I'm certain we would have received it. Chris made some excellent recommendations for wineries and restaurants. At our celebration dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen, Chris had an aperitif delivered to our table in honor of our anniversary. We were happy with our three night stay at Irish Rose and would stay again.

This place is excellent. It is situated perfectly in the wineries and only about a 5 minute drive to downtown Healdsburg. Chris is a fantastic hostess. Her property is gorgeous. A wonderful bungalow with lovely flowers and animals! Fresh eggs from her chickens (affectionately referred to as "the ladies") made the most wonderful omelet. Speaking of, the breakfasts are delicious (ask her to make her French toast soufflé).

This was my first trip to Sonoma for wine tasting. Chris had wonderful recommendations. She clearly knows the area intimately and has deals with discounted wineries for discounted tastings for her guests. All of this, and it was almost the cheapest B&B in the area. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Sonoma.

Chris & Lenny's nondescript farmhouse off of Dry Creek Valley Rd is a perfect destination for wine lovers looking for a charming, well placed B&B. The minute you walk in the house, Chris is warm and full of information on the best places to visit and offers a tasting card good for a complimentary tasting at one of 122 wineries in the area. Chris' breakfast was a perfect compliment to the morning after a day in Healdsburg and the surrounding valley.

A piece of advise for visiting the Irish Rose/Healdsburg. Make sure to stay early in the week when the crowds are less and so that you can take advantage of the Music in the Square on Tuesday nights. Lenny dutifully heads into town to snag the best seats in the house and Chris encourages you to join them. I wish we would have!
