Owner description: Open By Appointment Only. In the heart of the beautiful Russian River Valley, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery offers a proud 33-year winemaking history and a unique sense of place. Perched atop a ridge along winding Westside Road, the winery offers a spectacular view of the sweeping valley below. Gary Farrell Winery benefits immeasurably from its long-term relationships with many of the Russian River Valley's most celebrated and sought-after vineyards including Rochioli, Allen, and Hallberg to name a few. Gary Farrell Winery helped put Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the world stage, and the hallmark Gary Farrell wine style remains one of balance, elegance, texture and sense of place. Today these acclaimed wines can be enjoyed on our intimate outdoor terrace and the view from our winery completes the picture.

“Great view and wines but staff is so so”
Reviewed July 21, 2009

Gary Farrell makes some great wines - Pinot Noir is their trophy wine. The view from the tasting room is spectacular looking over the valley. Their staff is a little obtuse and the tasting room was packed, even on a Monday afternoon. If you are a Pinot fan - make this a stop on your tour. If you are looking for personal service - move on past.

“Great views and very good wines.”
Reviewed June 17, 2009

We stayed at a B&B in Sonoma after a meeting in Napa. This winery is perched atop a ridge with beautiful views and the winery is very nice. This area is good for pinot noir and it was excellent at this location. We bought several bottles of pinot and chardonnay and have been vey pleased.

“Don't bother !”
Reviewed May 27, 2009

We got to Gary Farrell and it was very busy. We waited for a table to taste. The lady who was doing the tasting was taking care of 10-12 other people also. It took so long between wines and she knew very little about what we were tasting. We planned on doing a picnic
but could not find a table. I loved the Russian River Area but NOT this place.

“Wonderful wines, great views!”
Reviewed July 15, 2008

Visited Gary Farrell Winery - the grounds and tasting room are very nice. The winery is located high on a hill surrounded by redwood trees and beautiful canyon views with hawks flying overhead. Very tranquil scenery. The wines were first-rate; especially their pinot noir and merlot. I wish I would of bought more!

“Pretty Grounds With Views/Wonderful Pinot Noir!”
Reviewed March 12, 2008

We did a flight of Pinot Noir at Gary Farrell this past weekend, it was barrel tasting weekend but this winery chose not to participate so the crowds were not too bad. The weather was perfect for wine tasting, the tasting room is spacious and our server was very nice. We sampled 3 very nice wines and purchased a bottle from the Carneros region.

The views are very pretty here, overlooking the valley and vineyards. Gary Farrell was a very nice stop before heading over to Cyrus for dinner.
