My family and I spent the last six nights there. It is an excellent place to stay. Rooms are VERY quiet. Even the budget rooms are a step above what you'll find elsewhere. The Hotel staff is friendly and kind. Ian checked us in and could not have been more helpful.

The location offers easy freeway access. You are right next to the 405, but you never hear a sound from the freeway due to the well insulated walls. The breakfast is good. It is the usual "free" breakfast food Hotels offer, but was always hot and fresh.

One BIG advantage in staying here is the free things they offer compared to others. Parking is a PITA in the LA area and many places charge extra if you park a car there. For example, The Crown Plaza charged me an extra 150.00 for parking there as well as 5.00 per day for internet service. Not Aries. Parking and internet are free. Enjoy the free parking as I believe it may be the only free parking lot on LA.

The pool is very nice. Secluded and clean. Same for the hot tub.

The restaurant inside the hotel is very good and there is an amazing Italian restaurant across the street. King Keg, across the street, is a nice store to work with.. If you stay here, dont miss the Hawaiian BBQ place next to King Keg. It is unreal. Unique, cheap, and delicious. I coudl have eaten here for every meal. Its THAT good.

For regular food there is also a McDonalds and Carls Jr across the road.

Room Tip: It might be fun to have a room that overlooked the courtyard. I'll ask for one next visit.Mine...

Dear Roland -

It was a pleasure welcoming you for six days recently. Thank you so much for choosing our hotel for your visit and for your kind words. Our hotel (as well as the entire chain) attempts to provide the most possible complimentary amenities. Standard are complimentary Wi-Fi, parking, and full breakfast and I am so pleased these contributed to a comfortable visit as did our location. We are grateful for your review and hope you will return soon.

Well crafted, well furnished and well staffed this boutique hotel is. I have stayed at this location many times and the experience never disappoints. The food provided by chef Sherie DiBernardo at the Matisse Restaurant is superb as well. The rooms are very elegant, especially the King Courtyard rooms on the first floor. To be honest, I haven't stayed anywhere else the past few years. I will continue to support and recommend this fine property provided by the Ayres family!

Room Tip: Room 120. It is the Junior Suite which leads into the Courtyard through your sliding glass doors....

We booked several rooms at the Ayres in Manhatten Beach/Hawthorne for a weeks stay. Our daughter was getting married nearby and we felt this hotel would be perfect for photos. I had several changes in the reservations in the months before the wedding and each time the staff I spoke with was wonderful. The rooms are very nice, staff exceptional. The included breakfast was excellent. Nice spaces to hang out with family and friends.

Room Tip: we had the 3d floor and it was very quiet, I would avoid the first floor.

The Ayres Manhattan Hotel is a beautifully designed, decorated, and furnished hotel. It is very much like an expensive European hotel, but with large rooms.
All amenities were provided, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the service at the front counter and in the restaurant/breakfast room was First Class.
The total package that this new hotel chain has put together is outstanding and at a very fair price. Congratulations to the team that put this together.

Dear dhalcrow -

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding our hotel. It was a pleasure welcoming you and we appreciate you taking the time to let fellow travelers know about us. The Ayres family took a great deal of time and energy to make our hotel reminiscent of a European hotel right down to the tapestries and 400 year old fireplace, so it means a great deal that you found the decor so inviting. We are also pleased that you found the complimentary full breakfast of particular value. We hope you will visit again soon.

Warm regards,

We just returned from a week's vacation at the Ayres Hotel at Hawthorne/Manhattan Beach, LAX. What an unbelievable experience in every sense of the word. The staff from top to bottom are exceptional--they want to help in whatever way they can. The ambiance of the hotel, rooms, restaurant are wonderful. We loved everything about our stay. There's an exercise room, atrium garden, pool, and tables a chairs for relaxing. And, there's also a wonderful large fireplace in the hotel foyer. There's also plenty of free parking and bikes to rent. We can't say enough good things about the Ayres and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room was great and all the rooms seemed like they would be good. Quiet and spacious.

Best experience ever. I recently stayed in a $350 a night suite elsewhere and this was four times better. I couldn't find a flaw. Magnificent.

In other places you have to pay for the breakfast or get cold cereal and toast for free. Here the breakfast is complementary and very good.

The girls who clean and maintain the rooms are very creative and do a spotless job. The in-room coffee is very good.
