When we arrived the phone at the front door did not work. I had to use my cell to call the front desk that we had arrived. When shown to our room we were told that the heat was broken and we could use a space heater for heat. The room was dirty, cobwebs on the walls and furniture, bathroom was dirty, the towels had a moldy smell to them. The bed linens had not been changed and you could actully see the body imprint of the person that had slept there before. We tried to call the front desk with the phone if the room to complain and no one would answer. We went outside to look for the owner or manager and we realized that the lock for the door had a broken key in it and the door could not be locked. We packed our bags and left. Luckily we found lodging up the road. BTW...we were never told of the amenities when we arrived. I don't even know when they serve breakfast.

We have been staying at the Irwin Street Inn for the last 8 years, every October. Part of the beauty of this place is the unique features in every room. We have stayed in many rooms. Not one is like another in either decor or configuration. Something is always different. You get a quality experience for a generic hotel price. We have paid more and received so much less.

The people who own, and work at, the Irwin Street Inn go beyond the call of service. What they have to offer is Hospitality. A quality lacking much too often in the 21st century.

They remember my name, they remember my likes and dislikes. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone who appreciates more than the status quo, sterile, boring, accommodations.

The Irwin Street Inn is a very nice Victorian style Inn. We found our room very clean and neatly decorated. I enjoyed the grounds which had nice paths and many mature shade trees. The included full breakfast was very good. The chef served us and said that it was "Chef's Choice" which was strawberry pancakes, eggs, bacon and orange juice. It was delicious. The lobby dining room was filled with tables with old autographed sheet music from the early 1900's. The Inn is with easy walking distance to the downtown square and all of the downtown shops.

My family and I stayed at the Irwin Street Inn for two nights. We arrived on Friday and left Sunday. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It was so neat to stay in an old victorian home/inn. My children got a kick out of the old toilet with a pull chain. The authentic furnishings made our stay even more fun. The next time we stay at the inn I am going to have to treat myself to a bubble bath in the deep, claw foot tub. The staff was very friendly. I felt comfortable and safe there with my family. The breakfast on Saturday was good and Sunday brunch was absolutely delicious.

Nice B&B that consists of four old victorian style houses that date from the late 1800's. There is a very nice courtyard in the center of the four house cluster. Room decor is authentic along with bathroom fixtures and plumbing. We found the hosts very accomodating. The included breakfasts were excellant. The Inn is in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of many of the attractions of downtown Hanford.
