“A great stop on the way to Santa Cruz”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2014

Girls road trip! We stopped at Sam's on the way to Santa Cruz. They were able to seat us 40 minutes earlier than our reservation…right by the window. Chowder outstanding! Louis salad and bruschetta so tasty. Our server so patient with difficult customers behind us and gracious with us.
Such a good start to our road trip.

“Best Lobster Roll and NE Clam Chowder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Okay, so I know you're thinking, "how can the best lobster roll be in California?" Don't trust me. Just go. The last time I was in Boston, I had a lobster roll and found it to be much less good than the ones I've had at Sam's. The clam chowder is also fabulous and has plentiful clams and bacon.

The location (stairs lead to the beach) is perfect. Plan to take advantage of the beach if you come at a popular time I.e., Sunday at lunch.

“Bring On The Chowder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

We had a bowl of chowder and it was served with all the French bread you could eat. They did offer chowder in a bread bowl but there is no way one could eat that much. The chowder was delicious and filled with clams. We will be going there again soon.
