This place is on the sea coast with a great view. Famous for its Lobster Roll (named on the Today Show as one of the five best sandwiches in America). My wife had the swordfish, fresh and delicious. If you are in San Francisco and want to try something other than Fisherman's Wharf, give this place a try. Scenic, fun, and authentic!

First visit to this restaurant and very pleased with service and food. Server very informative about items on menu and showed patience for our inquiries. Food came served as expected, fresh and hot, with good taste. Would recommend making reservations, if possible as is it is popular to locals as well as tourists. Would definitely return for another dinner when in the area

Had heard about Sam's Chowder House with the Lobster rolls. Visited there and wasn't disappointed. Had to try the New England Clam Chowder. Really really good! My husband ordered the New Orleans Gumbo. It's a mild Gumbo, not as "dirty" as other gumbos I've tried but good. We both had the Lobster Rolls. It comes with slaw and house made potato chips. The Lobster seems to melt into the roll. The roll is to dye for! Not skimpy on the Lobster at all. When visiting this area of California again, I will definitely come back!

Sam's is located just north of Half Moon Bay, and is a very popular restaurant. It sits right on the bay with great views from the restaurant. Evenings, if not too cold, are enjoyable with fire pits located outside. The restaurant is large, and parking can be a problem. The lot fills up quickly in the evening, and many park along the highway, which is a bit risky. The food has always been good, and the chowder and seafood are seasonally fresh. Executive Chef Lewis Rossman has a lot of accolades, and it shows in the restaurant's large and varied menu. There is also a Gift Shop adjacent to the restaurant if you're into tourist paraphernalia. They have live music on Friday and Saturday, in summer from 1-5 pm outside (if weather OK), and inside from 5-9 pm. Winter hours are 5:30 - 8:30 pm inside. It's a fun place to relax with a fine meal.
