Had dinner here over 4th of July weekend and was very satisfied. The service started a little slow, but a waiter came over eventually because he noticed that we hadn't gotten any drinks yet, even though it was not his table, and everything was great from there. Having been in this industry before I really appreciated that, Too many times I have been to a restaurant where our server was behind and others did nothing to assist, so I feel the need to point that out. We had a couple of the specialty drinks to start that were great. For am appetizer we had scallops that were fantastic. Not sure if it was a special or always on the menu, but recommended if they are available. I had the Mero Sea Bass and it was simply awesome. It literally required no chewing, just melted in your mouth. My girlfriend had the signature short ribs and they were great as well. We had dinner at a very highly regarded restaurant in S.F. and two in Napa the previous evenings and this was easily the best.

(This review covers the Sunday brunch, ignoring the cost. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it for you)

I was treated to Sunday brunch at Navio. Really the best Sunday brunch buffet that I can remember. Many, many, high-end choices - sushi, sashimi of very high quality, great roast beef, shrimp, mussels, cheeses, amuse-bouches, smoked fish, fresh fruit, three kinds of caviar, the list goes on and on and on, and the dessert area had a crepe station and dozens of beautiful small-portion desserts.

Nearly everything I tried was very good to excellent, and our servers were exemplary. Plates were cleared regularly. Any request was met quickly with a smile. Coffee was wonderful. The view of the ocean out the windows is incredible. You're not rushed (and you should take your time, there is far too much good food to eat).

They combine time-tested favorites with a number of specialty dishes, but more of the former - so most of the offerings are what I would call "high-end classics" whose popularity is not in question. Maybe they could do a little more in terms of "chef's specials" for some more unusual offerings.

The only negative is the price, so if you don't worry about cost you should have no issues in coming here. Otherwise, it's a significant splurge, about $100/pp plus tax & tip and, to my surprise, $10 for mandatory valet parking.

Darren was our waiter. He was helpful with food selections. We tried the beef tips which were very good. The salmon was wonderful. The sorbet was the best we have ever tasted. There are two wine list. Ask for the more extensive list. The crab appetizer was really good with plenty of crab meat. This was a really good experience. Ask for Darren as he can really make the experience perfect.

We've done a lot of brunch so far, but because of its' really expensive price, we really hesitated to make a reservation at Ritz Carlton's restaurant Navio, and if it was not for the positive comments on Trip Advisor we would probably never have been there. That being said, we never regretted our 'investment' and this experience was probably one of the best, if not the best we ever had so far. Unlike most restaurants, Navio serves small portions of food which allows clients to try a larger variety of food before getting full. And the best part is that the food that is served is really worth the price. The only thing we were surprised about is that the mimosa are not included in the meal. For the price of the brunch we felt that this should have been included. But other than that, everything was perfect. If you decide to go there, we would recommend to ask for a window table and to keep some time for a little walk on the beach if the weather allows it.
