Description: The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.

We "drank in" a beautiful sunset last night. Great mojitos , Calamari with lots of tentacles, and delicious crab and shrimp linguini. A great location!

“Our favorite place during this trip.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

We enjoyed our first dinner at Miramar so much, we returned another night just for drinks. LOVED sitting on the patio looking out over the water, and just relaxing. The food was great, the atmosphere outstanding. We got a tad cold the first night - but our fault for not dressing appropriately, we'd just arrived - so learning curve. We would DEFINITELY return to Miramar again when we're back in town.

“Pleased with the experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

The restaurant was in a historic building near the ocean. We made a online reservation for 7 pm on a busy holiday weekend night. When we arrived, the place was packed and valet parking was required. We asked the hostess for a view of the ocean and even though the place was crowded, she found us a good table. Our waiter was attentive and prompt with bread and butter, drinks, and food. We ordered the swordfish and shrimp, and it was very good. We are happy to have discovered this seafood restaurant.

“Great Seafood Chowder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

This place has the best Seafood Chowder! Not sure if it beats the Monterey Wharf or not but at the least it provides some stiff competition. They have a good list of wines to boot. I couldn't decide between three different wines so the waiter was kind enough to bring me tastes of all three even though he wasn't supposed to. I decided on the Tierra Secreta, Malbec, Mendoza from Argentina. It's fantastic!

The location is ideal sitting just a few feet away from the Pacific Ocean. The service is quite good as well. If you have some time, check out the photos on the wall. They tell a very interesting story of the history of the place and the location. Try to get a table next to the window so you can watch the people enjoying the sounds of the ocean and watch as the waves crash on the beach.

Can't beat appetizers on the patio around the fire pit. The view is spectacular whether it's sunny or cloudy.
