Description: The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.

“Location was Everything”

The food here was just average. I got the feeling that this place was one of a select few that could accommodate a large number of tourists in the area, and that they felt secure serving ho-hum food. The patio was great, the service was spotty at best, and the view was fantastic. They need a Gordon Ramsey makeover!

“great food right on the beach”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Their patio is the best. Just can't beat it. I wish the food quality would be more consistent! I will still go here for the food and mostly for the view and be very selective with my food choices.

“Excellent food and view”

Great chowder and paella. Friendly waitress. Sat outside at a firepit. Nice touch with the windguards.

“great beachfront location & history”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

It's a former speakeasy/bordello with colorful past and casual but classy atmosphere. Alot of seafood, mostly local, I had prawns one night and sea bass the next and both were very good. The large outdoor glassed in patio with heaters and fire pits is great. With the ocean steps away, you can hear and smell the ocean, yet are warm and comfy at the tables. Service is unrushed but acceptable and the guests friendly. An easy walk from the Cypress Inn. I enjoyed it!

“Perfect Location”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

We have been there twice in a month and strolled after dinner along the cliff and the beach.
The view on the bay is spectacular, whether you seat inside or in the outside patio well protected from chilly winds, you can enjoy watching the pelicans fishing and sometimes a whale or two.
The patio also offers fire pits surrounded by comfortable couches for the socializing crowds.
The choice of food is quite interesting with a number of local specialties like fried artichokes... The service was friendly and the quality of the food was reasonably good, bust the best value remains the location and the view.
