Nice Inn with a beautiful view. However, the weather stinks! Grey skys the whole time we were here. The server at the brewing company said this is the way it is pretty much all of the time. I wish we would have known this as we would have gone somewhere else, especially with how expensive our room was. We were told the Fall is the time to come and the sun usually shines then. Both Friday and Saturday we drove to Santa Cruz to enjoy the sunshine. Go 22 miles south on US 1 and the sun will be out and what a beautiful drive. Sorry Landis Landing, this will be our last trip to Half Moon Bay. We would stay again if you move 25 miles south of your current location.

Landis Shores was a great find. What we loved about it was it's intimacy - both the small size of the establishment and the closeness to the ocean. We were about 40ft from the ocean, and the view was spectacular. The room size and bed were very comfortable, we liked the heated floors, and the amenities were all tasteful. Ken and Ellen and their hosts were cordial and helpful with suggestions. They make themselves available, but are unobtrusive.

If someone is looking for antithesis to a large hotel, this is it.

Larkspur Girl said it all, "it left us just a bit cold and feeling cheated". If could copy &paste that entire review and use it as mine, I would. Overpriced, cold, sterile, "appetizer & wine hour" was like something at the a Florida Motel 6, no offense to Florida OR Motel 6! They go out of the way to promote themselves as a wine destination, which they are not! The rooms are pleasant, but cheap. Which is FINE, but again they have misrepresented themselves. This was like an inexpensive over-nighter hotel on a long road trip. NOT a $300 per night, "luxury b & b".
The service seemed down right confused. Delivering wine to the wrong room with hand scratched price break downs. Breakfast service for other guests seemed painful, wrong times etc. Everyone seemed awkward and uncomfortable. Struggled with basic area questions and suggestions. This is the harshest review I have ever given, because I really felt misrepresented by their website. I happily spend money on great hotels and service (The Ocean Lodge at Cannon Beach is amazing), as well as being happy with a $50 per night road side stop. I was torn on weather or not to reserve there because it is rare for Trip Advisor reviews to be so split. I should have gone with my gut!

My husband & I stayed at the San Franciscio Bay room for 1 night. It was over priced for the value and we had the worst sleep. The queen size bed was uncomfortable and we can hear the springs mattress every time we moved. It's time to replace a new bed!

The ocean sound was nice but it's a bit too loud to sleep. There is a street in front of the room, and cars goes by all night.

The bed room and patio door were dirty. This is not a luxury inn /Top 15 Inns as mention in the vistor guide. Very disappointed.

From the moment I got to Landis, I was relaxed. The room is beautiful and its location cannot be beat. You can leave the window cracked at night and hear the ocean waves crash all night. We turned on the gas fireplace and stared out the balcony door for hours. The balconies are small, but given the sound and view of the ocean from the room, we didn't sit out there much anyway. The bathroom is large and the whirpool tub was so relaxing. The breakfast is delivered to your room (if you choose) and is delicious. The beach is immediately across a service road and it's not at all crowded. We'd see only a few people walking by at a time. I really can't recommend this place highly enough.
