Easy to find; lots of parking; plenty of space to have a picnic and relatively easy access to the beach. You can hop on your bike and catch the trail right in the park.

We live in Hayward, and we were seeking out a completely different town and atmosphere. The 15 minute drive down fhe canyon is GORGEOUS! The town is quaint, quiet, beautiful, the people are polite and the streets and the beach are wonderful. There is camping which we didn't do, and a great trail to walk on as well as the beautiful beach. Unfortunately you cant bring your dog but other than that it is a great trip.

No amenities aside from one restroom. Sand ok for small children to dig in, but beach is minimally attractive. Accustomed to gorgeous white sand and sparkling Gulf, so maybe this is a more typical Pacific coast beach, but just not attractive.

Half Moon bay is almost 2 hours drive from San Francisco and it gets colder as you approach the bay.The cloud cover is there to stay and though the beach is a great place to spend time with the family or playing with your Dog on the beachfront , the water is decidedly cold to say the least

Except for the Dog litter spread extensively on the beach ,there is nothing which can offend you

All in all a great place to unwind for couples , a great place to spend time with family

and if you are lucky, you may even see the Sunset Piano on the cliffs above! Can be chilly, so always bring a jacket. Water is super cold, but you can get great photos here.
