Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we came here for lunch while passing thru Half Moon Bay. The food was great. Crunchy and fresh chips and salsa, great fish tacos with squash and finally the chicken burrito. Best I have ever had. Not sure what their secure ingredient is but it sure makes for a tasty meal.

Friendly staff, easy to park and open all day. A bit off the Main Street thru Half Moon but easy to find.

Stopped here on our way to L.A. and loved it! Service was kind and warm, food (fish taco plate + pork adobo) was well enough for two! And more important - it's delicious!!!

Two drinks, two meals for $36 - good value! We'd come back if we could!

Thank you Cafe Capistrano making our trip better!!

So you are in Half Moon Bay and looking for somewhere to eat - what do you do?

I was searching Tripadvisor and found Cafe Capistrano - highly rated and Mayan. I have never had Mayan before so decided to give it a try.

We got two pork dishes from the Mayan section of the menu - can't remember what they were because my wife ordered - but they were both great. they came with soft tacos, black beans, rice, onion and salad.

The portions are sensibly sized so you don't have to do 4 hours in the gym to work off the calories.

And the waiter explained how they always use fresh vegetables for their food, not processed out of a tin. Cream and cheese are not in the Mayan diet so they don't add these fat loaded ingredients, so you get a healthy meal as well as a culinary experience.

This is Mexican food with a Mayan touch. We had steak asada and pork cooked in banana leaves. They were both excellent. Not too spicy and great prices. You've got to try it!!
