“Hiden "Mayan" Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

We wanted something different and the Mayan food sounded interested. The online reviews were very impressive so we took the plunge for dinner.

At the recommendation of our server we had the garlic shrimp and the chicken fajitas. The dishes my sound pretty common, but their preparation was definitely different. Both of our meals were really good. The food tasted fresh and the flavors worked well with everything on the plate. We were eating and enjoying every bit and before we realized it our plates were empty.

The food was great, service was very good and prices fair. We will go again when we're in the area.

“Really authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This little restaurant is a gem. We had superb service and wonderfully tasty, authentic Mayan cuisine. Halibut tacos, perfectly grilled and seasoned, with Mayan slaw beans and rice, fruit, salsa and guacamole. Deliciously prepared and served with handmade tortillas. Doesn't get any better. We also had wonderful pumpkin seed and roasted tomato dip with chips and our server gave us some tomato, cucumber and mango salad that was so fresh and tasty. Beer and wine and dessert menu too. They also serve breakfast all day. Great selection on the menu too. What a find.

“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

End of a long trip to San Fran and Napa. Took the "scenic" route to SF airport through HM Bay. Saw the reviews and had not had any really good Mexican food on the trip, so we gave it a whirl. So friendly, and so good. Fish tacos as good as you can get and same for garlic shrimp.

“A true GEM!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013

A colleague and I were headed to SFO from San Jose after a work conference. We had the day to drive back so we drove up the coast. We wanted to find a 'local' restaurant for a late lunch so we drove through Half Moon Bay looking for one. I can't say enough about our experience. If you are in the area and have the opportunity to visit Cafe Capistrano, take advantage of your good fortune and go!

I had Poc Chuc and my colleague had the Red Snapper fish tacos. Both were spectacular! We sat out on the back porch and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the experience. We both are still raving about Cafe Capistrano, and if I'm ever in Half Moon Bay - I know exactly where I'm going!

“Excellent finely prepared Mexican food with a flare”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

We go here on 25% of time when we go out. Beautiful plates. Fish taco plate is devine as are numerous plates with regional specialties from Yucatan. All plates come with numerous garnishes and salads (and corn tortillas) which are awesome. We recently rediscovered this place (we thought it had closed when it moved out of harbor area and were thrilled to discover it had just relocated). Love this place.
